Eh.. The images are only symbolic- depends on the artist's imagination. They can be spotted or differentiated with some fixed common attributes but images may vary a lot depending upon the school of art and region.I seeYou must be registered for see images

Interesting. Though it's much lesser known deity. Never heard of before but then in India almost every town has their own local Goddess. Only detail i found so far is here:Chandra is male.. but the name of hindu goddess of the moon is called Anumati Hindu Goddess of the Moon Her title means “Godly Favor.” She's a moon empress.

The goddess trinity posted earlier as the moon goddess was easily spotted ones as they are most prominent. They are goddess of wealth, knowledge and protection from evil - also accepted as different Forms of Goddess Shakti .
Interesting. Though it's much lesser known deity. Never heard of before but then in India almost every town has their own local Goddess. Only detail i found so far is here:
Goddess Anumati is mentioned in the Rig Veda. She is invoked for divine favor and she is believed to bless worshippers with wealth, children, long life and wisdom. Anumati is also associated with the moon – some scholars that the age of moon just before full moon is Anumati.
Another set of calculation states that a day which has both the 14th day and full moon in a fortnight is referred as Anumati. Some texts also state that she governs the day when moon is in its third and fourth quarter.
The Goddess is worshipped in the ancient Rajasuya Yajna. References to her are found in the Rig Veda, Atharva Veda, Mahabharata and Vishnu Purana.
Other References
Anumati is also the name of a River mentioned in the Rig Veda. As per Bhagavad Purana, she was the wife of Dhatr Aditya – one of the Adityas.
The word Anumati means divine favor or official approval.

Not much to go on. She was perhaps related with moon at one point.
BTW the Image you posted is still Durga not Goddess Anumati. I would try to find more about it real books instead of internet as info about it is debatable and contradictory on net.
Thanks for the link and the name. You gave me something to search and look for.![]()
That reminds me- these representations of Ashura and Indra have the same color as Narutos and Sasukes chakra. In this thread I wish to point out some symbolism, and there's a little repeat but there is also new stuff as well.

Yeah I am aware of Mahabharata and story of Karna all too well. There are lots of deity's... Other ying and yang theory comes from Mahabharata..Its a epic legend through out the subcontinent just like the Ramayana.
The story in short~
Kunti a princess was given a boon by a sage Durvasa that she can call upon the gods from the heavens and have children with out ***. Her first boon called upon the sun god Surya, after she gave birth toYou must be registered for see links.. Later Kunti got married to Pandu and her fourth son (after Karna)You must be registered for see linkswas from god Indra.
The two sons of her fought the epic battle atYou must be registered for see linkswhich lasted eighteen days, never knew they were brothers before it was way to late.. Karna died in the war..After the battle of Kurukshetra, Yudhisthira (second eldest after karna) performed the funeral rites for all loved ones. Then Kunti revealed a secret that Karna (Radheya) was her son. Yudhishthira got deeply hurt that Kunti did not reveal to him earlier that Karna was his brother. The depressed prince, in turn, cursed that no woman, henceforth, would be able to keep any secrets.
Karna also was born with the strongest shield from birth, which was even feared by god Indra..
Prelude to war
Following failed peace negotiations with Duryodhana, Krishna is driven back to the Pandavas by Karna. Krishna then revealed to Karna that he is the eldest son of Kunti, and therefore, technically, the eldest Pandava. Krishna implored him to change sides and assures him that Yudhisthira would give the crown of Indraprastha to him. Shaken from the discovery, Karna still refuses this offer over Duryodhana's friendship. Krishna is saddened, but appreciating Karna's sense of loyalty, accepted his decision, promising Karna that his lineage would remain a secret. In addition, Karna was elated to learn that his true father was none other than Surya.
Indra, the king of the (Devas) and the father of Arjuna, realized that Karna would be invincible in battle and unable to be killed as long as he had his kavach and kundal. He approaches Karna as a poor Brahmin during Karna's sun-worship. Surya warned Karna of Indra's intentions, but Karna thanked Surya and explained that he was bound by his word and could not send anyone from his door empty-handed. When Indra approaches, Karna reveals that he knew the Brahmin's true identity but assured that he would never turn anyone away. Cutting the armor and earrings off his body, Karna handed them to Indra. For Karna's generosity Indra decided to reward him and Karna asked for Indra's powerful weapon, the Vasavi shakti. Indra granted the boon, with the stipulation that Karna could only use the weapon once.
I am a bit surprised, not many, even among Indians know about karna that well. Also surprised that you know about Mahabharata also.Yeah I am aware of Mahabharata and story of Karna all too well.
Indra is basically a title not a person/god in particular in Budhhism and in Hinduism too his throne is always shaky and the idea is that he is replaceable any time by another challenger. Krishna practically rejected Indra worship in his own kingdom and dumped him. Other Devas get more respect and are worshiped more than Indra. So...![]()
Good pointThat reminds me- these representations of Ashura and Indra have the same color as Narutos and Sasukes chakra.
