What is Sakura's link to the plot? What does she bring to the story?

I guess her literally pumping Naruto's heart counts for nothing.
Or when she helped heal the SA when they were fighting ten tails
And there are a few more things she's done.
I'm not a huge fan of her but don't say she's useless.

Nothing at all, no special clan and no connection to any villain. Kishi really ****ed her with the plot. My only hope is that she's connected to the sage's mother some way, but that's just me.

Yes it does, actually. That's the difference between being a main and side character. One is supposed to be tied to the plot intrinsically, the other doesn't have to be necessarily to accomplish their role.

But if you wanna play that game, Hinata stopped Naruto from going to Obito's side at Neji's death. If he switches sides, the Alliance is done and the world is already under Mugen Tsukuyomi. What has Sakura done to affect the plot at such magnitude? What ties her in as a pillar of the series? What is her purpose, besides Sasuke?

No I'm not, that guy brought it up first. He compared a main character to a side character and prompted she had done more solely because of her role as main heroine when that's not necessarily true.

This has nothing to do with Hinata, absolutely 0. I simply retorted that she, a side character, has affected the plot. I could do so with Shikamaru, Chouji, Killer Bee, etc various others. He just happened to pick Hinata for whatever reason.

why is sakura in the story? i doubt if kishi himself has that answer. will naruto manga be affected if sakura dies?? nope. does sakura need to hold team 7 together? not at all. naruto and sasuke have deeper bonds than sakura has with either of them. sasuke barely remembers her name...lol

Actually no I didn't...I mentioned the other females in their graduation class you just took the name Hinata and became butt hurt that she was being compared to. You can say I'm comparing main characters to side characters all you like but the fact is the story is centered around Naruto and Sasuke not around Sakura. Sakura is not what I call a main character I class her as a sub main character like Kakashi.

However my point is Sakura does bring more relevance and purpose to the story than some of the other characters e.g Hinata, Tenten, Ino etc...

I care little for those silly little Sakura and Hinata debates since to me both characters suck, however I'm not going to be blinded by hate to deny a characters purpose.

I thought it was pretty obvious Sakura will be Madara's downfall. Ever since she got the seal. True power is to create rather than destroy to give rather than take.
