What is Sakura's link to the plot? What does she bring to the story?

As you may notice, there's a few Sakura threads floating around. And they really got me thinking, "Just what the titties is Sakura's purpose as a character?" and when I truly ponder it, I can't find one. This is not intended to be a bashing question in any way, I just want to know what intrinsically is her goal as a character. What does she want? Why is she here?

She is supposed to be a pillar of the series along with Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi, but she has no genuine design from what I can see, as opposed to the other pillars. Can anybody enlighten me?

: she has her purposes i guess, few times she has been a good plot advancement, her and chiyo vs sasori was a good fight

Well She ben Sasuke number one Fangirl sines the beginning and is willing to bead Him at an instant if He would only let Her. Sakura being on team 7 is the only reason She has panel time other wise He be like rest of the Girls in and out as needed.
