Senju susanoo, or strange 9 tails cloak?

At first glance it's "oh yeah, that must be a special 9 tails mode." However, some have said that Ashura was not a jinchuriki. Then I took a closer look. Despite the fact that it's obviously meant to resemble Kurama mode, it has many susanoo traits. Also, Hagoromo did say that Ashura got the same power as Indra, meaning it could be a senju version of susanoo fueled by bonds instead of loss like susanoo.

Here's some traits you'll find interesting. First up, notice the "Kurama head?" That looks like a helmet.

2nd, it has 2 heads and multiple arms. Sound familiar?

4th, Naruto in biju mode always positions himself in the head. Ashura positions himself in the chest. Sound familiar?

Also, if you look at the sides and below this thing, you'll notice that the "tails" looks like a cloak.

I'm pretty much convinced that this is essentially Ashura's version of susanoo and not biju mode. What do you guys think?

If it were then Naruto would be capable of it too as would many others.

Several people are capable of Susanoo yet no one else has shown anything similar to that form but Naruto's BM.

Also Minato uses a similar form too Naruto when using the 9 tails.

I think its a more evolved BM that Ashura could manipulate.

Im not sure if he was a Jinchuriki but i find it hard to belive that the brother who had less talented has a special Susanoo while the genuis older brother had a typical looking susanoo.

I kind of agree but it's just weird. The legs definitely make the thing look like it's shaped like Kurama but clearly by the head its something different. Maybe Mito being the first 9-tails jin will be retconned who knows? Only time will tell what that thing is

Maybe those aren't seal marks. Remember, the only seal Naruto ever had was a circular one. This are just markings.


Dunno. I just think Ashura has this thing. It is possible. I honestly think he may utilize this when he becomes a juubi jin.

Who says both can't happen, Naruto got stronger without Kurama too, then later gained his power.

Maybe this is Kishi's way of further connecting the two of them.

It could be that Ashura was able to use Yin/Yang just like the bijuus and therefore could create them himself.

Who knows.. maybe this is the REAL perfect Susanoo, one made of friendship and YANG energy, while the Uchiha Susanoo is made of Yin (dark, cold..) .

I agree with you, but regardless, there is the possibility that it is a biju mode and Hagoromo was merely saying that he equaled him before Indra got PS. However, it is not likely.

That was before the Sage died, after he died something clearly happened to them.

My theory is that they were equal when the Sage died, but when he made the Younger Son his successor he entrusted him with the Tailed beasts, that may have led to the Elder Son developing new powers to fight him with.

We never found out what people mean when they say he made Ashura his successor.
