He only got madara coughing blood and he only achieved that with help in the first place. Unless you think the gap btw juubidara and juubito is so much that what got juubidara to cough a little blood will kill juubito.

Hashirama's rashom gates hurt Obito too, it still didn't kill him.
If have to factor in that minato and Kakashi lured Madara's black orbs away to even harm Madara.

You are wanking Gai and we both know it. Juubito is different from Juubidara. He doesn't dance with his enemies and goes right for the jugular. Mindless Juubito much more so. Gai gets fodderized -diff it's not even funny.

Without the black orbs he did, that was his means of defense.
It's like sage naruto using rasengan on Obito's back.
It put a hole in his back, but he just regenerate from it and increase his guard afterwards.
If Madara used those orbs, Gai's evening elephant won't work.
there is big difference between hurt someone and defeat someone.if you look about madara again u will see he is kind of enjoying battles.without any worthy opponent he wont go in full power

If Madara was being serious, he could easily foderrize Gai using the same move when he stabbed Sasuke in the heart. Juubito as seen in his battle with Minato, Tobirama, Sasuke and Naruto don't play around and go straight for the kill. A mindless Juubito more so as he is hell bent on killing everything that has chakra.
