Why do you like your favorite character?

Recently I've stated that Itachi is my favorite character and even made a post asking about the " Madara Bandwagon"
Well after re-reading 621-627 or so I found that the spot of my favorite now belongs to Madara. Which brings me to the topic of this thread.

I don't like Madara because he powerful (though that is part of his appeal and my slight fickle headed nature) I enjoyed his back story on why he is the way he is. That, I do not define as being part of a "Bandwagon" so why do you like your favorite character?

I like my character because he's the most well-written in the series, is a genius, had the best speeches, the best fights, had major influence, and contributed the most to the morality of the story. And without them the serious would truly be lackluster and the majority of the fanbase would have dropped Naruto ages ago.

It's so obvious who my favorite character is that I'm not even going to state it.

Shikamaru is basically me in anime form. That's why I've always liked him since pt 1.

Gaara is my second fav because I respect his backstory and his unique abilities. I've never seen or heard of anything like controlling sand and having sand that can defend you automatically. I just think he's a very well written character.

Sasuke Uchiha. Even though he had a much worse childhood than Naruto, he still gets shat on for the decisions he's made after his family was freaking massacred. He wanted to be left alone and wanted to focus solely on his goal, but because he'd didn't give a shit about the *****es of Naruto, he was once again shat on by Naruto's dumbass fanboys and dubbed a queer. Meanwhile Naruto's obsessing over him like the real gay one.

So he leaves to go get stronger, and, he's shat on once more by the fanboys for not staying in the village or returning to the village that ordered his brother to KILL HIS WHOLE FAMILY. Then, because of Itachi's wish, he returns... and... you guessed it! He's shat on again.

On a serious note; I like him more because this show is about ninjas and the way he fights is more strategic and ninja-like as opposed to Naruto spamming kamehame-*ahem sorry* Rasengan and turning the series into a ripoff of DBZ. He had potential, but it's a shame Kishimoto has decided to screw him by denying him any significant solos.
