Why do you like your favorite character?

Sasuke. And if I began, I wouldn't stop writing about him. But I'll just give a little reason why; he's such a flawed, human character I found relatable right off the bat. I have personal reasons to like him because of his "darkness", but also really because he plays the biggest part as a victim. And he came out realistically. He doesn't manifest in the art of a heroic protagonist. Instead he's complex, he's meant to be read with something out of the picture. The fact that Kishi alone defined him as neither right or wrong and just "pure", elucidates this further. So many people misinterpret him because they refuse to look further in depth(Besides. The petty insults people use against him are ill-linguistic, biased and tasteless). He's a balance of what people could perceive as both good and bad. I've never disregarded him or disliked any of his aspects, and even if I can acknowledge his flaws, I think he's great regardless.
I have many more reasons but I lack the audacity to write more since I've probably typed it many times before lmao

Sasuke Uchiha. Even though he had a much worse childhood than Naruto, he still gets shat on for the decisions he's made after his family was freaking massacred. He wanted to be left alone and wanted to focus solely on his goal, but because he'd didn't give a shit about the *****es of Naruto, he was once again shat on by Naruto's dumbass fanboys and dubbed a queer. Meanwhile Naruto's obsessing over him like the real gay one.

So he leaves to go get stronger, and, he's shat on once more by the fanboys for not staying in the village or returning to the village that ordered his brother to KILL HIS WHOLE FAMILY. Then, because of Itachi's wish, he returns... and... you guessed it! He's shat on again.

On a serious note; I like him more because this show is about ninjas and the way he fights is more strategic and ninja-like as opposed to Naruto spamming kamehame-*ahem sorry* Rasengan and turning the series into a ripoff of DBZ. He had potential, but it's a shame Kishimoto has decided to screw him by denying him any significant solos.

Asuma. He had a great fighting style, an awesome beard, he smoked, and he was the best mentor of the K12 leaders.
He actually spent his time teaching his disciples instead of letting them turn evil, run off into god knows where with a perverted old man, and remain useless for 99% of the series.
Not to mention he is one of the few non virgins in the series.

Eh.. The slanders are god awful for any character. :| Typically people like to call Sasuke gay for some obscure reason(AKA because they just don't agree with his choices so I guess he's "gay")

I don't have a set favorite. I genuinely like a lot of the characters, and equally too.

The one character that's always stood out to me though was Itachi. Especially when he came out to be a good guy all along and truly love and care for Sasuke. That all along he had a good heart and even after all that he had been through, he still cared about the Konoha and just had this personality that I could never dislike. Even when he was crazy and pushing Sasuke overboard and drove him to the brink of pure insanity, he did it all out of love.

Story short, he was a great ninja and an even better person. To me anyway.

well, i used to really like itachi for all the obvious reasons, but after a while i came to realise i like kakashi more. because when you look at his past, you realise that literaly his life is a complete failure from start to finish.

list of people kakashi didn't manage to save: his mother, his father, obito, rin, minato, sasuke...
i mean it looks like the list is endless. and it's not just in the past, he repeatdly had chances to do something about sasuke and still he let him slip. sometimes he's always a little too late or just has a completly bad luck, repeatedly.

i like the idea that his outward personality is more of vulgar fun then say obito's dramatic give up on life, like kakashi is in denial. there's something real about being hurt and not showing it.
