After viewing 4 seasons of a cartoon version of star wars, i've really begun to gain interest aha

Thus, thought i'd watch the movies. But i heard supposedly the movies aren't in order of release or something. Can a fellow star wars fan please enlighten me in the order that i should watch star wars movies ^_^

:bouncy: I'll rep you even with my 20 points :bouncy:

A New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Return Of The Jedi
The Phantom Menace
Attack Of The Clones
Revenge Of The Sith

That's the order in which they came out

It depends if you want to start with the good films and end with the worse ones. If you want to watch the good ones first, then start with the original trilogy (4,5,6). If not, then watch them from 1-6.

this is correct, the proper timeline that the events happens are movies 4 5 and 6 and then 1 2 and 3 ( the sequels past 3 are the prequel to the first 3, if you follow)

The order of release is:
4: New hope
5: Empire Strikes Back
6: Return of the Jedi
1: Phantom Menace
2: Attack of the clones
3: Revenge of the sith.

YOu can watch them With New hope first, or Phantom Menace first, Or, according to some guy, 45236 is the best order, because PM sucks, and 2 and 3 are Basically flashbacks for teh big twist. That you obviously know what it is, you cant really not.

Most of youse are just confusing me!!!

I want to watch them in the order of the storyline. I don't wanna be watching a movie and be thinking whaat? When did that happen Lol

^- I think i know what the big twist is. Someone we all know and love becomes Darth Vader. If its not then don't tell me :)

So i should watch in this order to understand the timeline?

First: Movie's 4, 5 & 6

Then: Movie's 1, 2 & 3

4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3 = Order movies where released.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 = Order in which the story goes.

If you want to watch storyline (which is quite right really, unless you know the ending already then you'd just spoil it for yourself).

Storyline:
  • Episode I - The Phantom Menace
  • Episode II - Attack of the Clones
  • Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
  • Episode IV - A New Hope
  • Episode V - Empire Strikes Back
  • Episode VI - Return of the Jedi

Release:
  • Episode IV - A New Hope
  • Episode V - Empire Strikes Back
  • Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
  • Episode I - The Phantom Menace
  • Episode II - Attack of the Clones
  • Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

It's up to you, but I'd personally watch in storyline order, it doesn't matter if it's 'wrong', it's actually correct.

4 5 and 6 came out first.
He planned on making 9 films but made 6.

Then the prequels came out, 1, 2 and 3.

they are now working on making 7 8 and 9 come true.

Let's be honest you really only need to watch 4,5,6 a new hope, empire strikes back, and return of the Jedi. Those are good movies and then you might want to watch the newer ones which are prequels to the original but they really aren't that good.

*To be honest ... there is only 3 star wars movies (4, 5 & 6 .... just like there is only 3 Indiana Jones movies) ...

If you want to see an autopsy of the prequel ... go and watch the red letter media reviews ... actually more entertaining ( ) ... they go for awhile ... but the cover everything that went right or wrong (mainly the latter).

There's 2 trilogies and it's really best to start with Episode 4: A New Hope, the first one released back in 1977. You can watch either trilogy on it's own and it's actually more fun to learn the prequel backstory after you watch the original 1970's trilogy like everyone else did.

Plus the prequel 2000s one ARE just as bad as everyone is making them out to be, the only one worth watching is Revenge of the Sith, which ties into The Clone Wars series really well. You can so just watch that one on it's own.

Wait im confused again.

Are the trilogies different from the movies? Do i need to watch "trilogies" before i start to watch the movies to understand the plot?

You must be registered for see images

Here's all 6 films right? The top row are the 2000's films, the 'prequel trilogy' and the bottom row are the 3 classic star wars movies from the 1970-80s. The whole series is just these 2 trilogies. You can watch either trilogy on it's own without needing to see the other one but all 6 tell the one big ultimate story of Darth Vader. Start with Episode 4: A New Hope man.

The 1970s trilogy first and then the 2000s trilogy, undeniably.

watch the original triligy (4, 5, &6 ) first because there is a huge twist that you will ruin for yourself if you watch the new trilogy (1, 2, & 3) first
....granted starwas is so popular that you prob know what the twist is
