In term of what? Sakura character has far more relevancy to the story than Gai's, no matter how poorly written she is.Gai has moments in the manga where he is needed to advance the story, Sakura character is integrate to the story.Case in point, naruto would be a corpse right now without her character, and would have been a corpse long ago.

I can count the times that Naruto would be corpse without Gai.
The only thing she has over him is "main character" status which she is far from living up to.

I think the only way to save Sakuras character now is by showing us more of her skin and profit from fan service just like how Hiro of fairytail do justice of a Lucy character.

the best way to make her relevant is kill her off in way that furthers the plot...that would be epic if she sacrificed her self for naruto and sasuke and that sacrifice gives them the push to stop madara...that is the only way to stop sakura from going down in history as one of the most disliked characters in anime

Honestly though Sakura feats are meh and her appearances aren't memorable. Her big moment is unimpressive, and someone else could have easily took her place of reviving Naruto. Guy senseis character is more developed and his feats are more eye catching. We can't compare these two since one is epic, while the other is mediocre.

Of course! It is a manga for men after all!! Men characters are meant to have big fight roles and more flashy techniques.
Women have their way to contribute, but most of the time in much more unappealing (less flashy) way than the boys...

Sakura is not mediocre, the whole Narutoverse thinks otherwise, she had her development and she has been contributing to the current plot since then, as a medic, as a massive Juubi-clones killer, as the only hope to save Naruto. And just because they are not the most attractive things to read in the manga, they are not irrelevant.

The thing is, what is more interesting? Might Gai-Sensei with 8 gates opened vs Madara Juubi, or Sakura performing CPR on Naruto?

And none of this indicates that Gai has more panel time or relevance than Sakura, and i will give you a chance to reconsider the Rin issue, It's just pure madness.

- Defeating Sasori with Chiyo
- Healing villagers at the hospital during Pain's invasion
- Healing Hinata who tried to save Naruto
- The first person to discover Zetsu's trick (This was really significant)
- Performing CPR for Naruto and doing that heart-holding procedure

People should acknowledge what she had done.
And as a medic she can't participate much in battles.

Exactly, her main role is in the back, as a support medical shinobi, healing. And they know that, they are just trolling and hating because they can...

I find that Gai has a bit more panel time than Sakura, he's been in a ton of chapters, especially the time when they were trying to get on the turtle island thingy so Naruto can go to the waterfall of truth. Sakura mostly shows up in the non-shippuden episodes...

Sakura has obviously had more screen time due to being a main character and appeared often through part one and shippuden unlike guy, who only shows up when needed. So guys, come on, if you don't like a character, just don't talk about them. They're both VERY useful and very awesome in their own ways. Guy is a Jonin with the ability to increase his strength and speed with gates and is a taijutsu master, so of course he's superior in combat than she is. But Guy can't heal others, thus were Sakura comes in. So again, can we just all drop these stupid little arguments? It honestly isn't getting anyone any where.
