I really don't know a lot about Gai and Afternoon Tiger, but doesn't he say it is a really fast punch? If so, anyone with a brain can deduce that punching in water is slower than punching outside of water, as it is that way in real life.

How is this fact so over looked?
But it was still fast enough to actually create Hirudora, although it is a feat for Gai to be able to punch that fast even while underwater. I think Kisame surviving Hirudora is more to do with the effects of underwater explosions.

Yes, but if he has greater velocity, that would in turn create more air pressure for Hirudora and make it bigger as seen against Madara. But to teach his own. Maybe a combination of the two.

Oh, I get ya now. Makes sense. I did make a point about how a faster punch would probably mean a stronger Hirudora.

V3 Susanoo which end tanked Tenpachii gets broken by the afternoon tiger?

No, not at all...

The only reason why Madara put down Susanoo is because of the juubi.

lol, Kurama cloak tanked Tenpenchii.

He put down Susanoo when he explicitly stated he wanted to capture them before the Juubi was revived?

are you stupid or what? if he truly wanted to capture them he would have used perfect susanoo. the reason madara wasn't doing anything it's because plot no jutsu was holding him off just like plot held kakashi's kamui from soloing pain

As there is Nothing to contain the power, how are you even suggesting that he can control the power of any Gate-based attack?
Hirudora is nothing but a fast punch.

He may not control his chakra flow, but he can control how fast and strongly he punches.

The hirudora clearly hadn't detonated. The teeth gripped the sussano, and it detonated off screen.

Guess what? I addressed that.
Quick note - Madara only used V3 Susanoo because he wanted to capture them, not kill. I've seen peeps argue that he was only waiting for the Juubi's revival because if he was going serious, he'd have used PS. If he did use PS, he would have killed everyone there and would have had to wait for Gyuki and Kurama to revive [X]. Plus, he probably would have ended up killing Obito too.

I'll address it now.
I have read your thread. I didn't over-look anything.

First of all, there is no such thing as adjusting the power of Gate attacks:

The technique is called 'Gates' because it removes the restraints on the Gates that control/restrain the amount of Chakra that is released within the body. It would release all the power contained within those gates, thus allowing for the Gate techniques, associated by opening the said Chakra Gate and creating the power. As there is Nothing to contain the power, how are you even suggesting that he can control the power of any Gate-based attack? It goes completely against the working of the Gates and thus, against what the manga has established. As the user cannot even control the self-destruction of the body, despite opening the Heal Chakra Gate. All of this is vastly speculatory.
This has nothing to do with the actual techniques used while in Gates since the techniques themselves are almost entirely independent from the Gates; the only link they share is the Gates only allow them to use such techniques, the techniques themselves are executed in a set way, showing Gates =/= techniques utilized in Gates. Gai can put limits on his techniques or not. For example, Gai created less flames than he did .
As for the water, then they were not several meters below water, just slightly below the surface - About 12 feet I am assuming. Not that it matters as 7th Gate Pushes Water back anyway:

Gai doesn't have any explosion based techniques. It's simply a high-speed Punch that creates a vaccum and the rushing pressue waves collide, producing a shockwave as Kisame mentions that the hand speed is super sonic, and that is what happens in super sonic movement - the shockwaves are produced via the colliding pressure / Sound waves.

Because of all this, I just do not agree at all. V3 is vastly and I mean vastly superior to Kisame's physical durability. Gates do not allow for power adjustment. It isn't canon.
Like I've addressed before, explosions underwater cause massive internal damage rather than dismembering people. On top of that, I've already stated how Gai can decide whether to put more power into his techniques or not.

lol, Pat put this the best way:

Ah, I guess I didn't make myself clear enough.

Explosions underwater deal more damage internally (in a human), so it's different to explosions that occur in air. Damage done underwater is mainly due to being hit by extremely high pressures, which deal massive damage to organs. Explosions in air usually dismember humans, the same doesn't happen underwater, which is why Kisame doesn't seem that harmed but he should have suffered internal damage (this is all assuming my physics knowledge is right). I think caterpillar's explanation puts it best.

What's V3 again?

^Thanks dude/dudettes.
Ohhh, now I understand..lol. I was completely off the mark on what you were trying to say.

V2

V3

Compared to the one in scan. The Susanoo I have under V3 has bigger, more defined limbs and the ribs aren't as noticeable. There is little visual difference between Madara's V2 and V3 Susanoo. That's probably since Susanoo isn't just 4 stages that's power is set in stone...but that's another topic.

So was it a v2 or v3? Regardless of whether susanoo was destroyed or not, it probably tanked/absorbed most of the damage, so madara would probably receive insignificant damage from it. Similar to how kirin obliterated itachi's v2, but failed to hurt him in a significant manner.

Check out my thread:

It explains how you don't need evidence of breaking Susanoo, but evidence showing concussive damage can stripe it off.

I dont think Hirudora destroy Sussanoo. I think it provided enough concussive damage to strip it off.
It should have done more than just strip it off considering we don't see Madara for the entire chapter and he stopped attacking, leading to the conclusion that he must have been regenerating. If it was just Susanoo that was stripped off, he should have easily put it back up again and continued with his attempt to capture Bee and Naruto.

lol, yeah, just goes to show I don't express myself that well xD

Thanks for clearing that up. It seems as though V2 is more skeletal in structure, while V3 has more mass.

That would mean that Hirudora destroy V2 plus Madara's body. I dont think that happen. Sussanoo had to at least soften the blow..

Alive Madara was able to recover, after getting his V3 smashed to pieces, by Buijuu tail swipe[ ]. That attack also remove a limb from Madara, yet he was still able to recover.

I dont see Hirudora being as effected here in that scenario^^, thus I believe concussive damage had applied.
