the only reason kakashi and guy were rivals and considered "equals" was beccause guy can use all of the gates pushing himself above kakashi level/higher but kakashi can also activate the gates but its unknown if he can go all 8 gates.

yes but u can survive the most powerful taijutsu tech, and the most powerful taijutsu tech to date is hirudora that was actaully used and kisame survived that all u need is a durable body, u cannot survive the most powerful genjutsu unless the user doesnt want to kill u( itachi vs kakashi and itachi vs sasuke ) nor can u survive the most powerful ninjutsu...



also dnt assume anything, u assume 8th gates is faster than double kamui but its not, kamui is instant and relies on speed of thougt because the user times the incoming attack to slip right through them...

u assume whatever tech gai uses in the 8th gate is a 1 hit kill but u have never seen any gates tech kill anyone in one hit even the mst powerful to date gate tech that was actually ever shown was hirudora against kisame and he lived...

When Gai was in 6th Gate Kakshi was uinsg MS and they both held their own against the edo Jin even in their beast mode. This is why they are rivals. Gai has the gates that put him on par with Kakashi's Sharingan techs.

7th Gate Gai = Kakashi using Kamui at his current state.

8th Gate Gai > Kakashi. But this would result in a draw since after Gai defeats Kakashi, he would die.
