Their powers will compliment each others power. Whatever one lacks the other will have. They have both surpassed the previous generation in many ways so that box is already checked. They will neither be able to kill each other or beat each other. Naruto has already learned the importance of respecting and working with his comrades. That is a lesson Sasuke still has to learn. He will either learn it by teaming up to beat Madara or by fighting Naruto.
Maintaining the balance in order to right the sages, Hashi's and Madara's mistakes and learning how to work together even with your differences has been what the manga is supposed to be about. Whatever techniques they come out of near death with their abilities will compliment and be able to counter each other so that neither of them will ever be able to have the upper hand for very long.
this is my theory about how the Rinnegan works and why Sasuke will get it! please stay with me

why didn't something happen at the beginning when Madara applied Hashirama DNA into his body?
is Senju DNA really the solution?...
i believe that Senju DNA is one of the head ingredients, but i kind of think that there is something else that must be added to the mix...
all these 3 evolve after certain feelings... hatred... loss... sadness... you know this already right?
Madara didn't get Rinnegan as soon as he applied the Senju DNA, he didn't achieve it until near death...
perhaps this is the reason for unlocking the Rinnegan...
To finally forgive yourself, to accept yourself for who you are and get rid of all that hatred towards other people... to accept what has happened and that your brothers will never come back... to finally get that feeling that no matter what you do now, there's nothing else that can be done, you're finished... finally... you've done all you can and it's finally time to say goodbye? THE SALVATION OF HATRED.
you see, Madara had already got Rinnegan before he met Obito for the first time... so i think that Madara had already realised that he was going to fail with his plan... not a plan of becoming the Hokage of The Hidden Leaf... but to become the leader of the whole world instead... (to put peace to the NarutoVerse... in his own way - Infinite Tsukuyomi) it was all a fail and Madara had finally accepted that.
i won't be able to avenge my brother...
i won't be able to create a new world...
i won't be able to fulfill what's written on the Uchiha tablet...
and even if Madara understood the Uchiha tablet in his own way... (the wrong way) he felt that there was no use anymore... it was finally time to give up... forgive himself... get loose of all that hatred towards the world... and finally accepting reality of what had happened to his brother and such... and therefore unlocking the rinnegan... when Madara unlocked the rinnegan he gained a tiny bit of new hope, implanting the rinnegan in someone elses body... (and let Zetzu make Obitos work... and let's face it.. that wouldnt've worked in the end because i don't think that Nagato would've negotiated if it wasn't for what Obito did... hiding behind the face of an imposter... claiming to be Madara and such betrayal in making Nagato realize what he must do.
not until finding Obito did Madara regain the true hope for his dreams to come true, because finally did he find someone trustworthy and someone that could actually help him with his plans... of course did Madara already have a tiny tiny bit of plans but Obito was the key to everything... the one who would make Madara's plans fulfulled. Madara could finally pass away with a smile on his face, knowing that he would come back.
this was my theory all the time... and it's actually starting to make sense...

He is not awakening the rinnegan and will never be.
It took 100 years for madara to awaken the rinnegan.Sasuke awakening the rinnegan in short periods of time wont make any sense and it will destroy logic.
Madara actually said that he awakened it in the brink of death with the senju dna injected in his wounds, and look at the position Sasuke's in right now. It's gonna happen.
Interesting enough, this possibility is far more plausible.
If Sasuke manages to inherit Itachi's Mirror and Sword, he may be able to use it more times because the Senju DNA + his own DNA would grant him more chakra reserves.
That wont happen cause naruto does not posses all the tailed beast inside him obito stole some chakara for his survival and he only sealed the nine tails which the zetsu stole from minato and lets see what surprise kishimoto is holding up in his sleve

The concept of "Verge of death" is not something that has been clearified. We don't know if this must be due the character being at the end of lifespan or due having an specific experience when having the cells.
Because if it is the last one, Madara has been in the verge of death twice: After being impaled by Hashirama, and after he implanted the cells.
I'm getting nervous because of how likely it is. It is so freaking obvious now, and Kishi is notorious for going the obvious route. I don't really mind him getting the eyes, but I don't want him to get Senju dna. Not only will he be a Madara clone, one thing I enjoy about him the most is his pride in the Uchiha clan and it's power. Taking that power will be like admitting he isn't adequate on his own. I can only hope Kishi won't disappoint me, but I won't hold my breath. Rinnegan Sauce is coming.
If Naruto turns out more powerful than Sasuke then Kishi has efficiently messed up the story. Everything is pointing towards that the true way to peace is the equal balance between Yin and Yang . Sasuke and Naruto symbolizes those two.

Sasuke is the one who is gradually becoming 2nd madara. Even if he's TNJ'd by hashirama he still wants to destroy Bijuu's, kill Naruto and become hokage. In other words he just wants to bring peace by force. Whereas Naruto's goal is to bring peace to the world by connecting people and making them come together so that they can understand each other (which is the main theme of this Manga), which is exactly what Rikudou Sennin did in the past and failed to complete it. And now naruto is the one finishing what Rikudou started.
i'd rather see sasuke improve his own eyes and not get the rinnegan. it would be rediculos for him to get it now since it took madara years. perhaps theres an emotional trigger too for it. i bet he might get rinnegan in the future if he fails at becoming hokage and he experiences deppression lol

Same as Kaguya and Hagoromo, they are one part of peace themselves. Madara stated that true peace is only achieved when you combine Yin and Yang, the is completely correct there.. However. Madara didn't fully understand it, as he thinks its the power of Yin and Yang that needs to be combined. While it actually is the ideals and hopes of Yin and Yang, power and love is the way to peace. Not one of them, but both of them. Naruto's goal to remove all hatred will make sure that peace is never obtained.

That is what the Circle of Hatred is, only so far both sides fail to see the other. The Senju fail to fully understand the Uchiha and the other way around. If so then there is no point in naruto and sasuke fighting each other at all, because it would again lead to hatred and true peace will not be established till the end. In order to achieve true peace people have to understand each other. Jiraiya, Nagato and even Rikudou sennin himself gave their lives believing this. The only way to establish true peace is by making people understand each other. For this to happen naruto and sasuke both should work together and need to possess consensus-ad-idem. Which is lacking between naruto and sasuke. As we have seen so far sasuke is not at all blending with naruto's ideals. He's been doing things on his own which is not at all good. Thats why i said Naruto will be the one to change sasuke. For that he needs to be stronger than sasuke in the first place. The whole Yin-Yang part seems plausible only with sasuke's co-operation. Otherwise not.
