Why not just use Curse Mark? Ask Oro and Kabuto.

They sought the teachings of the Great Snake Sage in order to learn dragon sage mode.

If Curse Mark is sufficient, they wouldnt venture that far, right?

In addition, Curse Mark will get depleted. Whereas, u can recharge dragon sage chakra when it runs out.

I believe the combo of DNAs which Sasuke received will allow him to naturally absorb NE and auto-balance the other energies in his body to achieve:

1. 33% physical energy;
2. 33% normal chakral
3. 33% senjutsu chakra;

Once the NE starts coming in, Sasuke being the genius that he is, may be able to control how much he needs or doesnt need. I would also like to suggest that Jugo's ability is actually a low tier level of dragon sage mode:

1. Jugo's mode - Low tier DSM, one can lose control of himself;
2. Kabuto's mode - Mid tier DSM, similar to Jiraiya;
3. Likely Sasuke's mode - High tier, wont lose control, perfected like Naruto.

All of this is pretty much nil when you account for the fact that the Ryuchi Cave/Kabuto/Jugo's method =/= Mt Myoboku/Naruto/Jiraiya's method.

Not really since Juugo's way is not perfect SM, since it said they have the ability to absorb natural energy but never said they know how to balance that energy with their chakra; going berserk is enough for that. They were said to have special bodies

Kabuto stated you can only get that ability through training, Orochimaru tried to gain that ability but couldn't find the right body, SM doesn't have to do with having a strong body since it's about balancing inner energy and we know Orochimaru experiment to put other people's power into himself, Yamato getting Hashirama's ability and being the sole survivor of the experiments is prime example.

So Sasuke isn't going to have Juugo's ability since Juugo's clan have that ability because their bodies are special and Sasuke had Juugo's flesh since his fight with Bee yet never shown any natural energy being absorbed. If he had that ability then he wouldn't know how to balance it and would lose control like juugo or turn to stone depending how much is absorbed. Kabuto, Naruto and Jiraiya were all said/shown to have train for SM.

Jugo's ability is Sage "Mode", Kabuto's ability is Jugo's ability which is Sage "Mode". If Sasuke were to obtain Sage Transformation, through Kabuto's assistance, who just so happens to be utilizing Sage Transformation connected to Sasuke while pumping chakra into Sasuke's chest, which is fully made up of Jugo's cells. Sasuke trained for years using Senjutsu through the Cursed Seal, longer than Naruto, that's a given, how isn't he suitable for that ability? He's shown perhaps the highest aptitude with the Curse and Jugo's transformation of any.

No, Kabuto said Juugo's clan had special bodies for their ability and Orochimaru (who experiment to replicate abilities; Yamato with Hashirama's power is prime example) couldn't find the right body and he did do experiments with Sasuke's body and Sasuke still showed no abilities like Juugo even when he got some of Juugo's flesh. Juugo's ability is not SM, it's to absorb in natural energy but that caused them to lose control and go berserk which would put it below or close to imperfect SM. Sasuke was given Senjutsu from Juugo when he made the Zetsu's leave Sasuke's body and Sasuke had no reaction to that. Sasuke trained for years using the CM which Kabuto called a pretention trick so it wouldn't be the same plus Sasuke wouldn't know how to gather, balance and be completely still aspect that SM needs. Kabuto used the snake attached to him to be still for him as Ma and Pa toad would do for Naruto if they fused.

What Kabuto is putting into Sasuke are essential a few things:

1. Hashirama's DNA (Allows huge chakra reserve and life force - This allow sage mode. We all want to see how a perfect dragon sage would looked like, dont we? After all, it would be uncool to see a Kabuto-like Sasuke).
2. Karin's DNA (Allows healing);
3. Orochimaru's DNA (Allows rebirth);
4 Hashirama gave some chakra to Sasuke (god knows that was a normal or senjutsu chakra);

Not to mention the DNA of Jugo which Sasuke already has during the fight with Killer Bee.

Kabuto doesn't have Hashirama's DNA inside himself nor does Sasuke since Edo Hashirama has no living tissues since he's a zombie so the first part is invalid. Kabuto actually experimented to gain Karin's ability and make his body accept it, just pumping it into Sasuke doesn't mean he would gain the healing aspect. Look at Yamato, Orochimaru did experiment to give Hashirama's abilities to his test subjects and only one survived but Yamato didn't have Hashirama's healing ability, nor did Obito or Danzo. Only Madara got it. Hashirama said Madara took all his senjutsu so it was his normal chakra. Sasuke used rebirth when he had Orochimaru absorbed in himself but he didn't have Orochimaru's DNA, just his chakra and will inside him but it takes a large amount of chakra per use.

If he obtains the ability to passively absorb natural energy, then how does that matter? He has trained with natural energy, and knows of Jugo's ability, he does not understand the inner workings of the ability.



I just always assumed that he had picked up Jugo's ability to passively absorb natural energy. Seemed to make sense, as he called the curse mark lacking due to it's impermanence.

Sasuke won't gain that power, Kabuto didn't have it, he said he had to train to get SM and Sasuke had Juugo's DNA long ago and never shown to have Juugo's ability plus Orochimaru couldn't replicate it. No Kabuto doesn't Juugo's ability, he said Juugo's clan had special bodies to do that, Sasuke asked if Kabuto have a CM and Kabuto said you can only get that ability by training. Orochimaru tried to gain Juugo's ability but didn't have the right body, Juugo's clan have special bodies, so Oro couldn't add it to himself as Kabuto added Karin, Oro's, Suigetsu's DNA to himself.

Also Sasuke never trained with natural energy, he only had some Senjutsu which is different things and Sasuke didn't have full knowledge of Juugo's ability is why Kabuto told him more about it.

Due to plot no jutsu, I think we need to accept the fact that sooner or later, Naruto and Sasuke will face Madara as a tag-team with no more help from the others. With that in mind, both WILL need to use natural energy.

We all know Naruto can use it. So we can leave him out of the discussion.

Now lets focus on Sasuke - To see how and why plot will make him learn sage mode (very likely to be perfected dragon sage mode):

1. Orochimaru's experiments shows Sasuke has the potential to be better than Madara. Note that when Oro made this comment, he already knew Madara has Rinnegan and Hashirama's DNA. How will Sasuke top this? Obviously it will need to be something like a little DNAs of Oro, Kabuto, Karin, Suigetsu, Jugo and Hashirama.

2. The dragon sage mode which Kabuto displayed is imperfect. Kishi first did it with Jiraiya where we were showed how an imperfect toad sage looks like. Now its time to show us the perfect dragon sage mode. Agree? I do want to see it for my self.

3. In terms of plot, it would be uncool for Sasuke to keep utilisie Jugo's ability to attack Madara. That would equate to Naruto, Sasuke and Jugo VS Madara. Sounds totally wrong. He needs something on his own.

1) Actually not really, Last chapter confirm you can hit Madara in two whys, Senjutsu and taijutsu. Sasuke has the eye's to get in close for taijutsu and his power up will further aid him in that aspect most likely since it wouldn't make sense for Sasuke to just gain a powerup that he had no training in, it would just go against the manga. It was Sasuke's own potential, not Orochiamru's experiments, also why is Hashirama's DNA there? He's a zombie so where is the DNA going to come from? Kabuto doesn't have Hashirama's DNA and Orochimaru isn't connected to Sasuke with his Zetsu body. The other DNA's wouldn't help since Kabuto experimented with those DNA to be accepted to his body, Sasuke was only compatible with Juugo's body cause of the CM which has Juugo's enzymes (proteins release by cells).

2) Actually Kabuto is perfect, Orochimaru more than likely have imperfect since he still could make senjutsu but Kabuto has perfect SM since he said he evolved from the snakes and became a dragon. Kabuto even said Oro couldn't become a "True sage" but said he did

3) In term of plot? It was Itachi who said he failed because he tried to do everything by himself so in that aspect Sasuke could work with Juugo. Plus Taijutsu works too and Sasuke shown to get in close using his EMS so his powerup might further aid him into getting in close without getting owned by Madara (he done it to all who got close to him). Well CM wouldn't be his own since it requires a another person to give him their senjutsu in it and Itachi rid him of CM for a reason, to rely on his own Uchiha powers. He can't gain Juugo's ability when Orochimaru couldn't copy it so made the CM plus Sasuke already had Juugo's DNA and didn't shown the ability.

Your balance of energies doesn't make sense since it's normal chakra is made from physical and spiritual energy and it's natural energy and normal chakra that makes Senjutsu so that list makes no sense really. You fit natural energy with spiritual and physical energy would be accurate. Plus Sasuke isn't going to gain the ability to naturally absorb NE and autobalance them, that makes no sense, he didn't gain it when he got Juugo's DNA 200+ chapters ago and Orochimaru couldn't copy Juugo's ability so made CM and Kabuto said the only way to gain that ability is through training.

You can't even say the second part, Juugo had no control of himself and would go berserk so he would be under imperfect SM while Orochimaru would have Imperfect and Kabuto had perfect. Kabuto even said Orochimaru couldn't become a true sage like him

Kabuto is the one who stated you need to train to gain that ability, Orochimaru couldn't copy Juugo's ability into his body like Kabuto did with Karin and other's DNA. So it's Kabuto's words are saying, you will not have the ability to absorb natural energy unless you train and learn to like he, Jiraiya and Naruto did because Juugo's clan have special bodies that allow them to do so. Sasuke had Juugo's DNA long ago and never shown the same ability so stop with Juugo's DNA helping him absorb it, Orochimaru and Kabuto couldn't copy it so what makes you think Sasuke will just get it? Kabuto had to train to absorb NE. Sasuke doesn't know how to stay completely still to be one with nature, doesn't know hoe to balance it so stone Sasuke or a berserk one if that happened and he doesn't know how to gather it, these are things Kabuto had to train to get his SM; same as Naruto and Jiraiya.
