The purpose of this thread is not how good these shows are. I already know what you're saying, it's been said millions of times over. That's not the point here.

Ok, Now I think you made this thread to talk about the fame and just the stupid logic DBZ fans have. Yes it is a great anime but every good story must come to an end. That is the worst thing of that manga/anime, it has no END... Stories get pretty lame and the powerups are just ridiculous sometimes, it was good once but now it is just annoying.
I have to agree with you here, despite how good it was and, despite how many manga artist are inspired by it, the strory is just boring and it just get's huge power levels to keep the story alive. No further character developement, no great strategy while fighting, and if a anime can't provide that it is straight BAD (come at me fanboys)

I agree that there are more powerful anime characters, but DBZ is the founding father of nearly all the modern anime.

Quality doesn't come into matchups. Plus DBZ really as a standalone show has not stood the test of time.

in all honesty ive never really been keen on anime/manga that have such a huge powerscale..

Dragonball z was the first anime i had ever watched but even with the scale as big as it was, i felt that it was done incredibly well and always found it exciting.. it was always a struggle when anyone fought someone which is what i liked and the hand to hand combat was excellent

I prefere DB > DBZ i just feel the story was better and it was concentrated more on the martial arts with a few cool ki attacks the scale was a lot lower and it was more entertaining

I do not see why people see the need to argue on what anime has the strongest universe because it doesnt automatically make it a better anime

I never once said in this thread dbz is bad, I never made this thread for the sole purpose of calling the show bad, you know what? It's one of my fav shows, if I never watched dbz, I wouldn't be watching anime and I wouldn't be here on, NB! But seriously, it's a good show, but the dbz fans, OMG, it's indiscernible who's using logic and who isn't. I've argued with insane dbz fanboys all across forums, they're like itachi fanboys with IQ levels equivelent to that of an infant.

Nah, we don't have a Stephen Hawkings level guy on NB yet, only some members like crystal, dourukyo, wall-e, and some other members I've seen are actually pretty logical, other then that, not so much.

It's really just not for me to be honest, no amount of world-building will let me watch shirtless men and pink aliens shooting magic bolts at each other, it breaks a lot of the rules of a conventional storytelling such as reducing the impact of death, deus ex machinas etc.

And i'd disagree there, lot's of stories stand the test of time. Even a few old-ish anime have. Evangelion, Akira, Mobile Suit Gundam and FLCL to name a few. And even then anime was a medium just starting out and finding it's feet, that's something.

Broly was destroying galaxies when he was but a child my friend, and super Sayian 1 goku defeated him. Super Sayian 3's power is far greater. Supreme Kao said unto goku " Gohan's power lever is passing 9000 km's, it only takes 300 to destroy a planet". This was but at the begining of the buy saga and just so youcan ponder on just what iit is super Sayian 3 or god can do. Destroying galaxies doesn't make the people you named stronger, it simply puts there power perhaps close to goku's, vegeta and gohans. Rest asured goku will forgive you blasphemy and so will I.
