I think it's best you first introduce him to a shorter anime series spanning only a few episodes in order not to overtax him with a series consisting of hundreds of episodes already, may I suggest Elfen Lied? It's only 12 episodes

Isn't that about a woman that was some weird power and it's has gore right?

Recommend him Attack on Titan and Death Note to start him off easy, but strong, then go into series like One Piece, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Between attack on titan and death note, which one? I saw both of them and they're very good but i doubt he will watch both of them at the same time, he likes doing marathon when he's about to watch a tv show, like he watch all the episodes right away.

Gurren lagann is only 27 episodes long and it is a blast. But yeah, as said above, it's probably best to introduce him to smaller animes.

Well, I suggest telling him about both. Tell him if he wants a dramatic nailbiter, go with Death Note, but if he wants to watch good action with an amazing soundtrack and animation, go with AoT. Let him decide from their which one he's more interested in, and he could just binge one and then binge the other.
