[Predictions] Fairy Tail Manga Chapter 373 Discussion and 374 Predictions

Interesting chapter. It raised many questions for me. One of which is the whole "who will reach me, you or END?". The other being Zeref, the all mighty demonic magician refering to one of his creations as "Master END". You don't refer to another by an honorable like that unless you are beneath said person. In Japanese they pay tons of attention and meaning to that. In Manga Panda, the translation is also different. It makes it seem that Natsu will have to make a choice between letting END live or kill it where as here it makes it seem as the choice is simply to die trying to kill it or leave it be. Furthermore, the way Zeref speaks to Natsu continues to intrigue me. Its as if they are old acquaintances when they actually only met twice. Face has activated and you have 41 minutes to stop it. That is interesting indeed considering they appear to be far from it.

Now, the downsides is that I don't specially appreciate the predicatibility of Hiro's match ups. Wendy and Lucy always end up taking a lower level enemy, Erza's enemy is always some guey lovey dovey emotional train wreck, Makarov barely makes an apperance worthy of that name, Mira always ends up protecting her sister while showing only a fraction of what she is supposed to be and showed against Freid. I dunno. Hiro should revamp it a bit and try to make them chance up. I miss the Erza of the first chapters that was so amazingly uncomprimisingly aggressive and powerful and cold that she was like an Iron Maiden of sorts. I miss the Makarov we saw against Jose. The overwhelming power. I feel he is now resorting to copying the same type of match ups he used before just changing the plot around it. Its not that its bad its just that I wanted a small change in that and I think he did it better in the first chapters of the story up to the tower of heaven arc finish.

"I didn't create the guild, that was done by Master END." There two things I thought when I read this,

1. Zeref refereed End as "Master End" simply because End created Tartaros guild and now is a master in the guild, so him saying "master End" doesn't necessarily mean \end is stronger than Zeref, afterall Zeref created End. The only thing that now remains is what type of demon End is. Maybe he is a demon that is a Dragon-like shape like Acnologia perhaps a Dragon slayer that was turned into a demon.

2. Since the ones who created the guild "Tartaros" were created by Zeref shouldn't he be the one who should be the master? Since the tartaros guild is trying to meet Zeref by activating FACE and End is the Master of this guild, meaning End wants to meet Zeref too thus making Zeref of higher caliber than End? Lol I will leave this like this... :snick:

Seems my analysis of last week was correct about Zeref there just being on his own accord while Tartaros themselves not knowing it and that it was END who made it into a guild. I find Zeref's attitude peculiar though. Till now he was already very weird, but this 'contest' about END vs Natsu really is so random. It makes it appear like that Zeref is considering himself as the 'game master', the one how controls everyone and the first one who succeeds in meeting him, will gain his favor.

That in bold is impossible, I just cannot imagine that Tartaros members don't know their own master or rather unaware that they have a master. I am saying this because if you see the fact that Tartaros wants to meet Zeref there is no way they not know about End too. Well they might not know End's appearance and stuff but I'm pretty sure they are aware to End's existence.

Now one last thing about End and Igneel, there lets look at the scan again:

Zeref said:"Couldn't kill" not defeat, now guys I know you understand the difference between the 2 words "defeat" and "kill"
As I said in the 1st post on this thread I would say Igneel was able to defeat End but for some reason something preventd him from killing him which can have a lot to do with what Layla-sama died in the year of 777 which I would love to know why. :T_T:

i'm just throwing this out there but from what i read and partially decipher could be a twist.

maybe natsu is E.N.D i mean zeref knew natsu from the tenrou island arc. also igneel could not defeat end a boy?

the only problem with this is that igneel trained natsu. maybe natsu has a twin?

its farfetched but twisted.

You're not making much sense. In regards to my post you say the bolded is impossible, but that bolded was clearly stated in this chapter, it's a fact, you even provided the page yourself and I didn't say anything nor implied that Tartaros does not know END.

I didn't misinterpret this chapter, you are the one who misinterpreted my post as I said that Tartaros didn't know that Zeref was there, which this chapter pretty much confirmed, and that it was END that was responsible for creating the guild, not Zeref. This is what I theorized last week and now this week it got confirmed. Seriously how could they not know END? As I recall even Cobra knew about END.

Simple yet a possibility!(thus the "Igneel couldnt kill him",because of the resemblance to Natsu.Dont forget,the mangaka has made pretty crazy stuff with time paradox and sh!t..we dont know what he will pull next...counterpart,sibling that looks exactly like him,e.t.c.!


I dont think the other demons know END as he might communicating with through telepathy or something!(to support my above statment)!

Meh I'm not going to buy the Natsu = END. END is clearly currently active, if END was Natsu, then that would mean END should have been absent as long as Natsu has been living, which is not the case.

I believe there is a direct connection between Natsu and END, however not one of the nature of he's some kind of alternative version of Natsu.

Think I have an idea as to what Zeref meant by, "Who will see me first, you or E.N.D.?" I think it is going to be something like a trial. The fight between E.N.D. and Natsu is going to be something that equates to this. Either you can live and fail to destroy E.N.D. or you can "die" and destroy it. In this case I do not believe that "die" equates to death. It might be something like, ceasing to be human, or become something else. As in become a demon to destroy a demon. When it is over its going to be whoever wins, becomes the next Zeref or becomes his true disciple.
Basically I think its going to take a Star Wars direction and take a page from the Emperors plan to make Anakin his apprentice. The fight between Count Dooku and Anakin marked Anakins first step on the road to the Dark Side, and subsequent apprenticeship to Darth Sidous.

Anyone else got another theory?

In my opinion, Igneel is in someway or another tied to E.N.D; which is why Zeref told Natsu it was his choice of whether to kill E.N.D or let it live. As for the entity that E.N.D is, maybe a strong Dragon. Considering it's one of Zeref's creations, one that absorbed Igneel in some way.

"the Connection" between natsu and END is the same connection between gray and silver .

Only if we had the good old Lucy to solve the riddle about E.N.D for us. I going to try to use the logic Lucy used during the Tenrou island arc to solve this riddle.

E.N.D consist of 3 words. Maybe a first, Middle and Last name. Maybe a phrase.

E can stand for words like: Evil, Evolved, Edolas, Eternity
N can stand for words like: Natsu, Negative, Natural
D can stand for words like: Destruction, Death, Die, Dragnell, Dragon, Demon, Depth


You also have things such as past lives. IDK. My brain hurts thinking about it.

This is the book of E.N.D.

It has a weird orb on the cover. I wonder if it has some relation to the demon itself.

If its something or someone we've seen, it has to be the most unsuspecting one. It has to be someone or something that no one would ever assume to be it. However, now that I look back and considering Hiro's writing, its probably something more simple and we haven't seen him and he will be set before us as a simple boss villain at the end of the Arc.
