I wouldn't say needed, we don't know if he could have done it with his sword before but he used his extended sword cause it was the best to use in his situation given he was some distance away. And I don't find Obito's too impressive, maybe that's just me but it just doesn't compare to other Mokuton we've seen. That and the fact that Sasuke's Chidori extended sword go through Mokuton too so it can't be that special right?

Ah, okay I see where you're coming from. Still though, I don't find that to be 5 worthy. I was being kinda lenient saying 4-4.5 before but I feel like the panel you just showed me solidifies 4-4.5 scaling for me in base. Now one thing you might want to note for his strength is SM. Granted we have no feats of his strength in SM but we've seen that is drastically increases one's physical strength, it at least doubles it. I forgot about SM doing so before but I guess I agree with you after all Lol if you include SM in his strength, Minato definitely deserves a 5.
