Let's see, kill dozens, or let these dozens cause a war that could kill hundreds or thousands, who have children just as innocent as they do? Damn, that's hard...

I agree, regardless of his reasons he still murdered innocent children and women via sneak attacks. That's a horrible and cowardly act no matter how you try to justify it. I'm sure hitler had justifications for his acts, doesn't make them any less heinous.

There is no good or evil, just points of views
The leaf thinks he massacred them to join the akatsuki
Other people that know the truth like sasuke think he's a hero for stoping uchicha clan from stating a another graet ninja war

Itachi probably made it quick and clean without causing an uproar. I doubt the clan even knew what had happened. He's too sympathetic a person to make people suffer, unless your name is Sasuke.

Horrendous logic.

Hitler had zero legitimate justifications. He wanted to kill and oppress people because he hated them.

Itachi didn't want to kill anybody, he did what he had to reluctantly.

I wouldn't take anyone seriously who compares Itachi to Hitler.

Let me clarify my point, I'm not comparing itachi's actions directly with hitlers. What I mean is that just because you have a justification for something doesn't mean it's not a terrible thing to do. Sure you can justify it by saying itachi's actions saved lives, but that doesn't detract from the fact he took many innocent lives in a cowardly way. Are you guys really comfortable with the idea of killing many innocent women and children in there sleep as long as you have what you perceive as a good enough reason?

It's portrayed as an action that needed to happen, and Itachi just took the burden of carrying it out.

No, I'm not okay with it. It was going to happen wether Itachi did it or not though. He chose to take the fall for it.

Itachi killing the uchiha clan is kinda like the usa nuking japan
It stopped ww2 but that doesn't change the fact that the US killed innocent people

He's an assassin, there is no reason to kill kids and babies.
Hiruzen was right when he said to try stop the coup d'etat with a strategy but Itachi listened Danzo the coward.

Also in a war the babies and kids aren't fighting so it would spare some more innocent lifes.

'Twas what he deemed as the lesser of two evils. And he did voice out his regrets to Sasuke when he was Edo Tensei'd.

Again you guys keep referencing the circumstances, trying to justify it as a necessary evil. At its heart it was a evil, vile act that itachi agreed to do therefore he isnt a good person. I haven't even touched on the manipulation and mental trauma he purposely inflicted on sasuke.......

I mean, I understand the discussion of morals and all. However, some people need to understand that it's a manga. I've seen some members that makes me wonder if they think of Itachi every time they take a shit. In the real world, there may not be a guarantee that a bigger war would have resulted from the actions of the Uchiha Clan. However, in Kishi's world, he wants to make this point known. There's not a "maybe it wouldn't have gone that way", they're all lines on a piece of paper. The only "destiny" the characters and the plot have is the one the author wants us to see.

Furthermore, the die hard haters of Itachi never get on Oro fans for liking a guy that killed his fellow shinobi so that he could become "immortal". Kids? Doesn't matter to Oro, he'll still turn them into one of his lab rats. I mean maybe it's a matter of perception, but I wonder which is more "twisted", liking a guy that chose the smallest evil out of two evils (yeah I know this is kinda subjective, but that just shows there's no clear cut answer), or a guy that would kill anyone and everyone for his own good?

Some would say that morals are being perverted in the case of Itachi. However, there's a clear moral dilemma. It's not really surprising some would side with him (and I even doubt many of Itachi fans would actually kill their family).

In the case with Oro, what excuse is there? That'd be favoring something that most would classify as 100% evil.

Excuse me Oro fans, for using Oro as an example lol. Though, according to the logic of some, no one should ever like villains, or anyone that does anything "bad". We should all be praising TNJ, and hope that Madara revives everyone that was killed so far. I mean, why would you want those characters to stay dead? You guys are evil!

I know this was probably a bait thread, OP. That still doesn't take away from the fact that some take this whole Itachi thing too serious, to the point that it makes them blatantly hypocritical.

What's wrong with taking circumstances into account?

As I said before:

What he did was horribly evil, but Itachi was a good person at heart.

lol so i can murder people and get away with it then?
He's too sympathetic a person to make people suffer, unless your name is Sasuke.
all he ever really did was make others suffer. sasuke, kakashi, naruto, sakura indirectly, konoha indirectly as he was manipulating them for his own ends.
he's a hero for stoping uchicha clan from stating a another graet ninja war
wouldnt have happened even without him, as uchihas were too weak and besides he helped start said war alongside akatsuki
What he did was horribly evil, but Itachi was a good person at heart.
itachi was one of the worst and most evil men in history. his actions include attempted enslavement, brutal genocide, brutal repeated mental torture sessions that left his victims crying in horror or in COMAS, helping a criminal organisation get stronger, allowing evil mass murderers to get away scot free, and doing nothing to even slow akatsuki down. someone whos good wouldnt have done what he did to sasuke which utterly destroyed sasukes sanity.
'Twas what he deemed as the lesser of two evils. And he did voice out his regrets to Sasuke when he was Edo Tensei'd.
exactly so if he felt regret and wanted to die for his actions then it must have been not so justified after all
Furthermore, the die hard haters of Itachi never get on Oro fans for liking a guy that killed his fellow shinobi so that he could become "immortal".
the differnece is no one is trying to paint oro as a hero, especially not kishi. itachi being portrayed as heroic is disgusting and tries to make us forget all his evil crimes

Itachi didn't want to kill anybody, he did what he had to reluctantly.
itachi aided a criminal organisation in starting a world war which he could have left any time he wanted. but no, killing thousands is the name of the game. theres also the people he tortured for his own selfish gain
It was going to happen wether Itachi did it or not though.
exactly. itachi really cant take responsibility or do things that benefit others unless hes given no other choice. he would prefer the sadistic route, as shown with sasuke
It's portrayed as an action that needed to happen, and Itachi just took the burden of carrying it out.
yet itachi was fine with ordering sasuke to murder innocent people, torturing sasuke to insanity and allowing evil terrorists to get off scot free
Guardian Angel of Konoha .
He did what no one else could .
Deal With it .
because no one else would want ot butcher babies and torture innocents

Let's see, kill dozens, or let these dozens cause a war that could kill hundreds or thousands, who have children just as innocent as they do? Damn, that's hard...
not the only options. tired of peopel saying that.
and itachi seemed just fine with helping to cause situations that kills thousands when he helped akatsuki kill the jinchurikis and when he assisted danzo in his plans.
The fact that he did what he did in that picture is why he is a good person, lol.
and torturing sasuke, torturing kakashi, manipulating and lying to many people, beating sasuke to near death and ordering sasuke to murder people is why hes not

He's an amazing individual , extremely kind and considerate
yeah i agree. it was really kind and considerate to torture sasuke to insanity, break his bones, beat him ot near death and mindrape him into a coma.

He saved that fate from happening to the other half of Konoha.
who died anyway when he let danzo sasuke orochimaru and kabuto do whatever they wanted and helped to make akatsuki even stronger.
also konoha would ahve been fine. they had hundreds of thousands of men.
