To unlock the Rinnegan as we know...

It requires

EMS
Senju DNA
Certain Event to trigger it's unlock.


Madara unlocking Rinnegan:

EMS via his brother Izuna
Acquiring Hashirama cells/power

Now let's analyze Sasuke Situation:

EMS via his brother Itachi

If you notice both situations were the same in terms of both EMS users being close to dying. What I believe is that what unlocks the Rinnegan is the feeling of hopelessness or suffering to the point there eyes evolve.

Anyways if the Rinnegan unlocking is the case. IT is quite possible that Sasuke used a jutsu to recreate himself such as Naraka Path but at this point it is all speculation. It is quite possible that since Sasuke is reborn with his chakra and Hashirama chakra mixed his chakra would be brand new.

What if the entire manga plot of Naruto turns out to be just a book that the Sage is writing on his deathbed in order for people to understand the true meaning of life and how to live harmoniously with one another?
