How did you get started on the Naruto manga?

For me, it was a girl I dated while living in Japan. I am originally from America, but I dated a young girl here for a year and a half and I learned kanji at the school. I buy the manga every week it's out, and sometimes help translate it. Sometimes I enjoy trolling NB when I am bored. Tonight I am in a good mood.

I used to watch the anime subbed back in like 5th grade on youtube because I hated waiting for new eps on CN, and I watched most of the fillers because I didn't know what filler was, I thought it was a part of the main story. While I was watching that Gaara filler I saw a comment saying the characters grew up in the manga and stuff so I found what they were talking about on OneManga and started reading the manga from there. Good times...

I got started on the manga after the anime, and the anime after the game, and the game after I played it with one of my friends (who still plays the games sometimes and doesn't really follow the story lol. For me it's reversed.).

I watched it on toonami, they had slowed down once rock lee's fight happened and I don't think we got episodes for a little while. I was in 6th grade when I first started, then when I was in 7th grade my brother's old best friend when they were sophomores told me he watches it in Japanese and I thought it was the weirdest thing in the world and he was telling me all this stuff like naruto learns how to use wind, and I was imagining kid Naruto using wind style lol, and he told me Sasuke leaves the village to join orochimaru and I was like WTFFFFFF tripping balls and then at the point he was at he was saying Sasuke was making a team and he had just recruited a white hair water style user. He kept saying something about manga or mangos or something lmao. I didn't know where he got this information from I was so confused then he showed me narutocentral.com and I watched all these filler episodes and then I tripped even harder balls when I saw the preview for shippuden at the end of the naruto fillers then after watching shippudens first 10 episodes I was like omfg this is so slow I can't wait this long. And I had assumed my brothers friend had leaks or something so I searched all over the Internet for naruto leaks and didnt find shit. I started youtubing stuff about naruto I then started finding bull shit manga panels of minato being the Akatsuki leader and then that's when I first saw manga even tho I thought it was fanmade. I was totally convinced it was real, then I had saw the chapter on YouTube about Sasuke losing his body then being a 7th grade Sasuke fapboy who just discovered the manga I immediately started the manga during the kazekage arc and started with the Itachi pursuit arc then read backwards then read forward lol. Honestly I can't believe I've been reading the manga since 7th/8th grade and now I'm in my 4th semester of college and still reading chapters every week. Blows my mind how far we have all come. That's my story. I was literally tripping balls and fanboying once the world of manga opened to me. Unfortunately I never started bleach or got deep enough in one piece to have followed as far as I have w naruto and I'm afraid it's too late now I feel like Naruto is definitely the easiest to get through in the big 3 bleach and one piece are dragged out I've heard

Back in high school I would always see the same group of dorky nerds playing magic and wearing forehead protectors. They would run around doing hand signs trying to cast jutsus and shit. I would see that same damn group doing the same thing all 4 years in high school and thought they were retarded. I had no idea what they were doing until one night I was watching cartoon network and Naruto came on. It was during the forest of death. After that was history lol.
