Definitely. It's common knowledge that hearts need oxygen. Kakuzu himself has a blood circulation system as seen when Kakashi took his blood and the blood circulation needs oxygen. Even if he did not ''breathe'' as they say which is illogical, they have to consider the fact that both Deidara and Kakuzu will talk in a battle. The C4 bombs were capable of entering Sasuke's body even though he knew about them. And don't let them compare Kakuzu's case to Sasori's. Sasori doesn't have a blood circulation system and he isn't human unlike Kakuzu who has been stated to be human.

They always do that in Kakuzu versus Deidara threads since Kakuzu cannot defeat Deidara with canon feats. Also, I'm assuming that he brought up the ''Kakuzu's hearts can fly'' assumption as well?

I see. As for the winged one, considering it's lack of feats when it comes to evasive skill and flight speed, it should be left in the dust by Deidara's Bird just like Akatsuchi couldn't keep up with Deidara and Ohnoki at all.
