I am sure Minato would know some as seeing it was just a sealing technique. Kakashi might be referring to seals for ninjutsu which more often require two hands to mold chakra more precisely.

But still, two shinobi in the entire world who know how to do one-handed seals, and one happens to be Kakashi's sensei and he still doesn't know about it? You would think Minato would be known specifically for that feat.

I doubt there are some jutsu that simply only use a single hand. In part 1 he reacted as if it was conceptually impossible. And this is the man who has copied over 1000 jutsu. I just find it strange.

Well Minato probably never really needed until now , seeing how he doesn't have his arm & was in such a hurry ,when he was alive , I'm sure he never had such problem .

That's not the point. One-handed seals aren't something you just pull out when you feel like it. It's a never before seen feat used by a single shinobi in the entire narutoverse until now.

It's not just some casual ability some people chose not to use.
