Thank you sir, I have spoken with a friend who is a Buddhist expert who also happens to read Naruto and this is what he said:SDP, you always have a unique way of blowing people's minds.
I think you've correctly identified Kishimoto's inspiration, here - but it is hit or miss as to whether or not he is going to follow through with inspirational lore in a sensible way.
Many of us believed Gaara would not be heading to the Fourth (because there was every bit of evidence that suggested sealing a beast back into Naruto wouldn't save him, the distances now involved, etc). It seemed a very solid bet (kind of like how we thought Naruto might not be able to shadow-clone spam in beast cloaked mode).
Then ... well ...
So, at this point, while I think you've identified the inspiration brilliantly - I am getting the feeling that the plot will develop outside of logic from here on.
Perhaps this is my insistence upon involving Hinata in everything... but it makes me wonder if Hinata might end up being the reincarnation of Kaguya as Naruto is the reincarnation of the Sage. Some kind of a tangent off of Taoism, perhaps.
Perhaps it will be as literal as Naruto and Sasuke die only to be reborn by the flower as one being.
Thus completing the 'fusion dance' ...... at which point, I will have to scour the U.S. to find one of my old room mates and tell him he was right.
By Fruit, I think he meant Chakra in general, Naruto offering Jūbi to give all of humanity's Chakra back to the God Tree, because Naruto and the Shinobi World are substantially no different from Madara, they are all following the Outer Path by using powers that don't belong to them, the only difference with Madara is the degree in which he uses that power to the extreme to achieve "peace" Kaguya was the first to follow the Outer Path by taking the fruits power to win her war, ultimately she was cursed, his Son tried to establish peace by teaching Ninshū to humanity but ultimately it lead to bloodier wars (as Madara stated) and I think what Madars said was true "Ever since man consumed that fruit, man was destined to fight and hate each other even more" it is the Karma of using stolen powers (Outer Path) If Naruto is able to come with an agreement with the Jūbi to spare humanity in exchange for returning all chakra back to it, then the karmic cycle of suffering will finally end, Naruto will also have to say farewell to the Bijūs for they will also return from their source, man is now free from the curse, and can try to find and sow peace relying on their own powers, the Inner Path to enlightenment. He and his mom are actually the perfect example of karma... as long as the power is not given back... the suffering will go on. Someone else will only abuse it. So Naruto either way has to make friends with the Juubi, or it will repeat itself. This curse of hatred was inherited as well from the Juubi. Man should just give the fruit back and find peace by itself. Maybe Naruto will offer it. To me it's only logical... what else? after Naruto, history would repeat itself otherwise...
As for Hinata, it is my firm belief that Naruto and Hinata are Anima and Animus (Jungian Archetypes)

Hinata's Animus perfectly compliments Naruto's Anima as shown many times in the Manga (protecting Naruto from Pain, helping Naruto overcome his doubt when Neji died) in the new world that is about to be ushered after this war, Hinata will be the pillar of strength of Naruto, that I believe.
