[Xbox One] Microsoft: Ditch Your PS3, Get $100 For Xbox One

It seems like Microsoft is willing to do a lot of things in order to catch up with Sony in the next gen console war, including a mail offer to “ditch” your PlayStation 3 by bringing it to the closest Microsoft Store and getting $100 in return towards the purchase of an Xbox One unit (as reported on Neogaf).

I’m not completely sure why anyone would do this, especially since GameStop usually gives more than $100 credit for those who bring their PlayStation 3 in, but it seems clear that Redmond’s giant doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned in their effort.

They should honestly just lower the cost of the Xone and and raise their sub fee by $5-$10 a month. I feel like they'll end up doing this by the middle of the year, or creating a new service which you must pay for to have a better gaming experience (Maybe something cloud related?) Then lower their overall console cost.

I agree, they aren't even in the race with sony anymore like last gen. Plus the PS4 is only going to do better and better as more titles are released.

It's definitely an uphill battle for Microsoft in console sales, I'm interested to see what other gimmics they'll pull out to try and get back in the race.

They could sell more consoles if they weren't including the stupid kinect(100 bucks more). Also their games, and they need to improve Xbox gold membership, Ps Plus is kicking ass.

The whole system is integrated around the kinect though so I don't see that happening, most of the motion features and commands are because of the kinect.

A overall price drop would help though like you said, that's how they even got a chance last gen. Because the PS3 was way more than the Xbox. Price makes a huge difference.

They have to do something, they will lose customers if they don't focus on games. Which neither of consoles has many games released at this moment. It will change within a year though.
