Does that sound arrogant/ignorant/brash/ or racist?

Because other people say "Proud of my Mexican/African/Asian heritage."

And suddenly its inspiring, and ok.

Not really everyone should be proud of their ethnicity.

nothings wrong with it, but white= supremacy in this world today, so once you say Im proud to be white you're saying im proud to be better, so in this world we live in today you're "wrong" and people get offended and say "so you think you're better"

Not arrogant at all, but broad. White/Caucasian is a preeeeeety wide range of nationalities and such. You're essentially being proud of several cultures at once. What we should ALL be doing (instead of playing favorites, cause all cultures play a part in some way), but I digress...

So... I'm curious.

What ethnicity is "White," exactly?

I mean... I can generally pick out an Irish girl from a Serbian girl - but politics in America fails to make the distinction.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you the difference between Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian, etc - but they sure as hell can. It occasionally turns into a life-or-death issue.

Yet politics in America fails to make the distinction.

My family is of German heritage. Not Austrian.

My Maternal Grandmother was at least partially Cherokee. Not Navajo, Apache, or Missouri. Yet we fail to make the distinction.

Races exist for political expedience in almost every case. "White" was created as an ethnicity to give the perception that there was a homogenous majority.

Likewise - there are many cultural distinctions of Africa that I'm not privy to - and our politics fail to distinguish between them.

It's almost entirely a manufactured issue in this day and age. It gives politicians easy votes and allegations that are difficult to defend against.

"So-and-so is a racist and intolerant."

"Uh... 'kay. I have black friends."

"Oh yeah - I have my token friends, too."

When you've convinced people that their problems are due to some kind of racism - then shoot-down opponents by claiming they are racist - it makes for a very powerful combination. Especially when you've targeted your 'supporters' for entitlement programs that force others to pay for them yet you claim (and have convinced many) they are to help a troubled group.

I actually find it somewhat sad that people, Americans in particular, have a tendency to break everything down to race or color. So no, I don't think that it is arrogant or racist to say that you are proud of being white. However, the term "white" encompasses many different nationalities, races, and cultures. It may be more appropriate to identify your ancestry and say that instead.

To your point, however, since white people are not generally considered minority populations, because they are grouped into one all-inclusive, overall socio-economic category in the United States, you would probably get some strange reactions from other groups of people if you started going around with it plastered the back of your car, or hung a Norwegian flag up outside your house.

Prophet Muhummad’s (PBUH) last sermon which was delivered during Hajj (pilgrimage), he stated:

"O people, Your God is One God and your father is one father, for you are all descendants of Adam, and Adam was created from clay. The most honoured of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you. No Arab has any superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab. Nor does a white man have any superiority over a black man, or the black man any superiority over the white man. You are all the children of Adam, and Adam was created from clay."

We all should just hate ourselves and the world would be a better place.
