it was good to see lil more about jiraya past. Did u guys notice that they show all pein's boby' and is funny how naruto acts more like jiraya and not like his father even thou we not know nothing about minato .Was minato like jiraya or was he more mature or something thats why kishi needs to leave saseke on the side for a while and work on minato story line .

This is what I thought of some of the artwork in the second episode
Seriously though I enjoyed it very much as I was very surprised at how much canon was used. As a Jiraiya and Rinnegan fan, it made my pants very wet. I loved the new music used when Jiraiya was talking with Nagato outside in the rain. Also of note is that they kinda messed up Hanzo's eyes as it was dark with white pupils and not the other way round which made him look more normal. Also I'm pretty sure they messed up with the Sannin fighting in the third ninja war as this was the same war that Minato and Kakashi fought in and Jiraiya was already in his current gear as shown in the same episode. In next weeks preview the artwork looks awesome. The part where Pain uses his jutsu to disrupt the rain for Konan looks incredible.

How will this affect Jiraiya's death sequence when he reminisces of his past failures while falling into the river, as we've had those flashbacks now. Imo that part was of the saddest moments in the Manga and I hope this doesn't ruin it's impact on the viewers

If there is im goin2 be so excited J-man is the coolest character apart from naruto
and i agree naruto does act alot like his mentor
the anime is like a half ass version of the manga...you miss so much by not actually reading the story of naruto. the anime is not the full or true story of naruto, they add so much filler and flashbacks that its almost confusing to just watch the show.
you dont know what your missing...

really enjoyed these episodes
was refreshing to see jiraiya's storyline
however i think it was more beneficial to see if your a manga reader also rather than just the anime watcher because of the spoiler thing valkyrie said. also because of the characters in these episodes are also gonna show up in the future which the anime watchers dont know.
but its a good setup for the upcoming battles

The best part for me was the last part.. where minato says he wants his son named after the main character of the book... that was pretty damn cool and saw naruto's mother in anime.. wow!!! this part was missing frm kakashi gaiden arc they showed in anime

I meant the part of minato talking to jiraiya abt naming his kid naruto.. that shud have been shown in kakashi gaiden.. if u follow the manga in sequence.. but I guess anime its diff.. they have put all these small backgrund stories in 1 episode.. yea kakashi gaiden was something else.. specialxd
Considering that those 2 episode show the start of Naruto ... the legend ... I think it's really cool. I don't want to compare those 2 background stories about Naruto's Masters. They are equally important.

That's why I do both after starting with the anime. Better to distinguish the cannon from the BS.
Lazy animators? Funny thing is that will be seeing that sequence with 4 different characters as we've had 2 now.
Kakashi's Gaiden was really one event so it was easier to follow the narrative whereas Jiraiya's story went at a pretty quick pace and there was more information to swallow. I think they should have used this filler-canon to make the Hanzo vs Sannin more epic and show what really went down that fight.
It would have made no sense whatsoever.

minato was like naruto as well we saw a little bit of his past in the manga or the anime i cant remember he was tied to a post just like naruto and jiraiya by their senseis and minato was tied and jiraiya was his sensei and he said that my dream is to become hokage just like naruto
It was interesting to see how Jiraiya found the mountain in the first place. I'm not sure how it will impact the people who don't read the manga when things start to happen though. They really went out of sequence. Anyway, I liked knowing why Jiraiya was always traveling. He's so cool, he's the only one of the sannin who seemed to only become wiser as you got to know him. But he's still a clown with the ladies. Definetely my favorite hero of the series.
