[Discussion] Shanks vs. Whitebeard

Who would win? For kicks and giggles, let's have two matches: one with Whitebeard in his prime and one with Whitebeard as he was at Marineford (not dead). For both matches, Shanks is as he is now (Yonko).

Prime WB: I'm not sure. I'm gonna say WB because he went toe-to-toe with Roger.

Older, Marineford WB: Shanks soloes.

What do you guys think?

Edit: I added a poll. The first two poll options are for the first fight (Prime WB vs. Shanks). The third and fourth options are for the second fight (Marineford WB vs. Shanks).

Whitebeard before his death was the strongest man in the world. He could beat anybody in a one on one fight. The likes of Shanks should already be in their prime since awhile back, nothing implies they are still growing.

Prime Whitebeard takes this much easier compared to the first scenario since he at that point was significantly stronger than he was in the first scenario.

If squado didn't stab him in the chest, the outcome could of been different.

If that wasn't the case, then you wouldn't have added Shanks twice on the poll unless you are implying Shanks improved over the timeskip as well.

I put one Shanks for each fight. Did you even read the edited part of the OP? The first Shanks is for the first fight and the second Shanks is for the second fight. It's not that complicated.

Do you even read the manga? What is so complicated about the strongest man, past his prime and sick, could beat anyone in a fight? Shanks as he is now is no different from as he was when Garp mentioned him as one of the 4 Emperors. You may have not wanted to imply Shanks improved, but that's what you implied when you wrote that.
