1. Gaara can fly. Minato can't. He has no ranged jutsu that gaara would even consider a threat.

2. Sand shuriken. With gaara flying, minato would have to throw his kunai, which mind you, is a regular kunai...nothing special about it but the paper seal on it, can simply be intercepted by sand shuriken. This ours minato at a extreme disadvantage because:

If minato doesn't mark a ftg spot far from the battlefield, he's dead...I'll explain< if gaara decides to do sand tsunami and change the landscape to that of a desert, even if minato throws a kunai, it won't travel far enough in time to outrun this massive wall of sand.

4. People say gaara needs a location advantage in certain fights. Guess what? Pts gaara turned a forest into a desert in a instant while constantly making his own sand. He can make any location homefield.

You seem to forget that Minato can summon Gamabuta who can shoot out oil which renders Gaara's sand useless and he can jump pretty high as well. He also can use powerful water jutsus that strong enough to cancel out Shukaku's wind jutsu. Minato Can use clones too. You also know that the moment Sand Tsunami touches Minato's Kunai he can FTG the Sand away right?

The moment Gaara's sand touch the Kunai, Minato can FTG it away. Also if he summons Gamabuta then he would just jump out the way or shoot oil at the sand rendering it useless.

Using his summonings are his best bet but even then I don't see something like food cart taking Garra out. Or even Gambunta alone. Summonings killing off kages are quiet laughable. Gaara sand is enough to kill of Gambunta by crushing his legs. Rasengan is out of the question. Once Gaara knows of Minato's ftg he'll start to keep his distance.

Minato could summon Gamabunta and have him use oil on Gaara's sand, and that is Gaara's weakness. Unless Gaara can somehow crush something as large as Gamabunta before he uses his oil, or sink him underneath the ground quickly, then Gaara is going to have some problems. That is the only way I see Minato beating Gaara without killing himself too though. Gaara counters Minato pretty easily outside of Gamabunta.

I know of Gaara's feats, I have say Gaara can beat Itachi and MS Sasuke in some fights. I don't say low diff but mid to high depending on who he's fighting. Gaara's not beating Minato low difficulty. Also when the sand is used to attack or defend, Gaara has it in a mass form of some kind. All the sand are control via chakra that Gaara use to move it, make it denser or make it less dense. When the sand is used for attack or defense then all the sand is touch another grain of sand so yes Minato can FTG it away it all away since it's clump together and all touching. Minato is a Genius that Jiraiya held above all even with people like Shikaku in Konoha he has the smarts, annalistic skills, speed, and right tools to use in the fight, also he is said to never make a wasted move.

He doesn't have to touch all the grains, each grain is touching each other and that's all Minato needs to FTG all of it away. Example, Sasuke and Naruto = grain of sand that were connected from the chakra arm, Minato FTG both of them because they were connected so same thing with the grain of sand touching.
