itachi couldnt but i think it was the same for obito as well because as soon as itachi died obito told zetsu finally they can attack konoha...that pact between them was made way back during the uchiha massacre, and i knw that is a while ago but obito still in his mind believed he couldnt beat itachi and itachi evidently thought he couldnt beat obito...its the same reason why obito didnt warp to nagato's location in the tree when nagato betrayed him instead he let it happen why??? because he couldnt beat nagato

If Itachi attempted to kill Tobi he would of probably escaped and leaked information about Itachi and the Leaf's plan to get rid of the Clan. Which would of caused a war. Itachi probably knew he was packing an MS and was skilled enough to hide his own presence. So rather than kill him he'd keep tabs on him while keeping him away from Sasuke.

Why he didn't kill Tobi while they were in the Akatsuki was probably due to his lap dog Nagato and them being assigned to different groups.

Itachi never knew Tobi was in charge of Pein. Im sure he figured out what he was after but he didn't know enough about Tobi to attack him head on. That's the thing Tobi never revealed himself until itachi was dead and told Nagato to attack Konoha. He was just another member of the group under cover.

Im also Sure Itachi wasn't dumb enough to attack the guy who I was damn sure did most of the killing of the clan.

If you ever noticed the flash backs it never goes into Itachi killing everyone. he simply shows him killing his parents and then leaving sasuke. If Itachi was killing before that they wouldn't have been just sitting there waiting. So obviously Itachi went to them while tobi was off doing whatever. And Im also assuming that Tobi warped most of them out of the village to collect their eyes and simply killed most of them easily by slipping in and out.

Itachi also assumed he couldn't hit him. So even Itachi's famous 1 hit solo wouldn't have worked. And Im sure it was as simple as Tobi black mailing him. Itachi obviously watched him kill in the village after he left sasuke or before and took a damn good note not to screw with someone who can't be hit and can warp.

How do you think they escaped the village?

You are right...in a kind of twisted way.

I don't really think that Itachi had a means of killing Obito. Itachi knew about Obito for some time before the Uchiha massacre, and I'm fairly certain that Itachi didn't think that he was Madara. However, Obito brought a very unique ability to the table, Kamui, that takes some time to analyze. Therefore, it is highly doubtful that Itachi really knew enough about Obito to go up against him in combat.

Furthermore, I don't recall a time when Obito and Itachi were physically in the same place together while they were members of Akatsuki. Clearly Itachi had a plan for Obito, since he was able to lay a trap for him in Sasuke, but I think that Obito was purposefully careful about Itachi. He even had his most loyal follower, Kisame, paired with him; probably as some sort of trump card should Itachi try anything.

u guys act like itachi was scared...itachi never was in the same place as him 1 on 1 there were always other members and they already wanted to kill oro for being a traitor, they would've treated itachi the same way and killed him...there is no way itachi could have beat...sasori, hidan, kakuzu, deidara(who already hated him), zetsu, konan, 6 paths of pain and obito...please and itachi was sick anyway he most likely got sick after his defection from the village, so why fight that amount of equal caliber shinobi just to kill 1

itachi never expressed fear of obito but he certainly did but wasnt scared to fight him and itachi is the most strategically smart shinobi in battle even over shikamaru and kakashi i dnt think deducing the mechanics behind kamui would have been that much of a problem...u guys rely on kamui too much in debates, u forget that kamui doesnt damage anyone, it warps them not kill them, obito would warp itachi to the other dimension only to get his ass whoop and try to warp back to reality...now obito kamui would on affect itachi tactics because obito would be avoiding all his attacks but like fu and torune quickly figure out the time interval and planned a attack but tobi outsmarted them but itachi is the same way but wont fall for something as stupid as they did...and obito fear itachi as well thats why when itachi was alive he never attacked konoha, as soon as itachi died he sent nagato to konoha...that makes u think if itachi were still alive nagato would have to have made an executive decision to go to konoha to achieve his plans of weapons of mass destruction...because obito wouldnt want itachi to step in the way so nagato would have to do that on his own accord
