My computer shuts down on its own, this happens almost everytime I turn the computer on. It's been about 2 weeks since I last manually shut down my computer. I don't know what to do, please help if you can.

Sorry for making two threads, was an accident :(

If you could provide more info about your problem then maybe we can come up with a possible solution or pin point what's causing it. Info like:
- does it shutdown as soon as you turn on your computer? or just as it loads the desktop? or after 15 mins of use?... something specific.
- what's the last thing you're doing before it shutdown?
-- just browsing, saving file in excel or any microsoft office application, etc etc.
- what operating system (OS) are you using? and the version
- have you installed a new hardware?
- are you receiving any error messages or notifications before it shuts down?
for now, i could suggest you to check your CPU fan, or any or any other fans on your computer. They should all be working especially those which have direct contact with your motherboard. :)

this is for windows:
try to open command prompt (start > run > cmd :administrator), type "sfc /scannow" then enter. after that, reboot.
then try "chkdsk /f /r /x C:" <<<< C drive or whatever drive letter you have your OS on. then enter, restart your computer and let the system perform a check disk.

-It shuts down around 20-30 minutes after I turn it on.
I'm usually in the middle of a LoL game when it shuts down, but I play LoL a lot, I'm not sure if the shut down has anything to do with LoL, but it might be.
-I'm not sure, it's not really MY computer per say, it's my brothers but I use it a lot.
-I'm not sure if he has, I don't think so.
-No, it just blacks out, as if a plug has been pulled, but I've checked the plug a couple of times right after it shuts down, and it's firmly attached.

What are the specs of your/his computer?
It might have a hard time handling LoL.
Are you sure it's shutting down and the graphics card just isn't failing?

Highly likely your fan is malfunctioning due to dust, as that is the most common cause of contious uncalled for shut downs. Broken fans may be another reason. Judging by the fact you play LoL, which is known to heat up computers and make fans go berserk, I assume your fans have messed up. If, however, you don't get this fixed, your graphics card will be burned and thus unusable. I have experienced the problems LoL may create, due to my last laptop having been wrecked by malfunctioning fans after heavy hours of LoL... Not shutting down your laptop after playing LoL also is a big factor, Mac's tend to have higher resistance to continuous activity, PC's on the other hand.. I can't say the same.

As I've said earlier on my post too like NarutoIndra, you should get the fans checked out bro. The kind of issue your computer has with the shutdown thing (sudden shutdowns similar to doing force shutdown) is less likely to be caused by a program, but could possibly be caused by a faulty hardware. I mean playing LoL with it using your video card and a not-working fan would definitely cause your PC to shutdown forcefully, which is actually a safety feature for windows. I agree that you should try to clean out the internals of your bro's computer. Collated dust on the inside would contribute greatly in slowing down your cooling system. Heat would most definitely have a hard time dissipating due to dust.

That's a possibility, since it shuts down faster than when I don't play LoL.

It's a heat problem.
I think you guys are right. I'll try to clean the fan and get rid of the dust.
