neji was more arrogant because he was the strongest genin in the village, even kakashi said he couldnt believe such a guy existed and that he is stronger than sasuke-kun but neji was the most arrogant, but sasuke was a close second and its debatable who was the strongest out of k11 in part 1 the most standout was neji but someone like lee using the gates could have beat neji or gaara or curse mark sasuke...but i think neji was the strongest out of them im not sure if anyone can break through heaven's rotation and neji has the greatest reflexes and is the best in taijutsu

LOL Neji was an ass, I still liked him for some reason. I think Sasuke was more annoying though because he was in the hospital or unconscious for like 70% of part one yet he was always talking shit.

Neji. He was just arrogant as hell in Part I, shit I did not like him and his whole "destiny"-shtick. "The weak are meant to die" and all that crap he spewed but he came around in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc.

I couldn't Sasuke near the end of Part I but his completely badass in the Five Kage Summit Arc.

I am not saying it is alright i said they were arrogant, but not "annoyingly" arrogant when you look at their reasonings.

And Neji went through hell. He lost his father becuase the guy had to give his life for the main family (in his information). He lived his whole life believing that he lost his father because the guy had no choice and he would share the same faith no matter what: being the sealed caged birth that was bound to be an inferior sacrifical piece for his superiors. Isn't it much for a 13 year old?

And Hinata was the representation of what main family is. She was weak and non-sufficient, had not have decent bonds with Neji yet he was bound to be her sacrifical piece. She was there; as representatin of what main family is and he was angry, for years. No one is blaming Shino for ripping a no-name guy's arms apart or Gaara for crushing Lee in chuunin exams; but Neji is a douche for letting out the years of pain on someone who is representation of what killed his father and sealed his faith? Him being violent to Hinata was understandable; and as i stated in previous examples that prelims had more vicious battles, nad neither Shino or Gaara has reasons to cripple their opponents unlike Neji.

That still didn't warrant that assault on hinata my dear caterpillar. Gaara was a maniac back then n killed for fun. Unless I should just categorise Neiji under the maniac tag too. Even Sasuke who lost far more wasn't that violent then. And hinata was weak, yes... Neiji was fully aware n was angry for all the reasons u mentioned. That still doesn't justify his preying on weak hinata. Seriously maybe it's just me but it gets on my nerves when sum1 preys on the weak lyk dat. Hinata was suffering too and understood Neiji a Lil.. tried to reason with him only for the blood thirsty hyuuga to attempt to murder her.
Whatever his reasons, that was unforgivable. I believe many people agree with me on this

Was Shino a maniac?

The moment someone steps on the battlefield, he/she accepts the possibility of getting hurt or killed. Hinata have choosen to be there, thus she knows someone wins and the other loses. If it is a somewhat ruthless act, then it goes for everyone who get defeated, not exclusive for Neji's case.

Yeah you're right but the difference is the match was already over n hinata could hardly stand... he knew it n still went for the kill. Anyway, he changed and matured after his confrontation wid naruto and hyuuga hiashi. I also hated the way the branch family were being treated and all that. I only wanted him to be the big brother hinata never had.. not a bodyguard or sumfin but a real big brother who encourages his Lil sister. In the end, he died like a real hero...protecting what was dear to him but still, kishi ruined it's portrayal and I'm still gutted he killed him off. He became one of my favorite characters.. and I enjoyed the moment when even bm naruto was in awe of his skills and called him a genius.

Neji, for sure.

While Sasuke was arrogant, he was also quite cool imo, he had redeeming qualities. For example, despite his arrogance, he wasn't above praising his opponents when they get the better of him. Neji just came off as an arse. Also, while Neji's life wasn't exactly sunshine and butterflies, it can't really compare to Sasuke's.

Actually no, he was trying to imitate Sasuke, to win the affection of Sakura, and because he admired Sasuke, and seeked his acceptance
