The lightning element is one of the basic 5 element.Ninjutsu involving lightning element is called 'Raiton' or 'Lightning Release' or 'Lightning Style'.The Lightning style is prominent among the shinobis of Kumogakurae.
Lightning is strong against both earth and water because both are very good conductors of electricity.It can be used in conjugation with both earth and water(lightning dragon used by Mei and Ay) to increase the effectiveness.can also be used with fire(sasuke uses fire jutsu to trigger up lightning clouds and then use Kirin).
Weak against wind as it is a insulator of electricity.

Okay, it's important to know that in the RP lightning is not strong against water, but they are good for combinations. If a lightning technique clashes with a water technique with an equal power, they will cancel each other out and the lightning won't continue. But if lightning clashes with earth with an equal power, the lightning will continue in a weaker state.
It's important to understand Raiton first.

The reason Why I wanna learn Lightning is that I think lightning is a awesome element and I love it. An element which will give you a upper hand in the battle or during the battle in dire situations..
Lightning also improves the speed and also the piercing power.Lightning can also be used for defence.Lightning is like a all in all element.these are the main reasons why I wanna learn Lightning.

As senpai gives me the balloon I take it and hold it in my hands..I close my eyes and start to channel my lightning chakra in it...I keep saying myself concentrate,focus you can do it...and I keep concentrating on focusing my chakra to the balloon..after a fem seconds..I can feel goosebumps in my hands..yes the hairs in my skin are standing erect as a pole..wow thats amazing I succeeded in utilizing lightning chakra and I take my hand of the balloon..to my surprise the balloon sticked to one of my hand palm..!!! O_O
This is my chance to prove senpai my dedication and skills..alright senpai watch me...*Focuses chakra in the hands* concentrates hard on focusing and manipulation and starts running towards the clone...make some small bolts of lightning and attacks with full force..the small bolts hits the target..! *yes* I made it.!

Give me some advantages and disadvantages of this technique. Try to be creative. Sometimes jutsus don't have very big (dis)advantages, in that case it doesn't matter if the (dis)advantage is too general.

Advantage: low chakra cost for a jutsu with considerable damage.no Handseal required.
Disadvantage: I think for a D rank jutsu level there's no big disadvantage for this jutsu.how ever performing another jutsu with a handseal will cancel out this jutsu.

As senpai tell the method I gather the Lightning chakra in my hand...I can feel a good amount of lightning chakra in my hand..I then slam my hand on the ground and release a surge of Lightning shocking senpai's clone.
Advantage: can be used to nullify low level earth jutsu.Can be used with a low level suiton jutsu to increase the damage.
Disadvantage: less damage. Short range. Opponent can easily dodge the attack.
Question:What do you mean by low ranked earth structure senpai??

Well, a D rank earth pillar is an example of a low ranked earth structure. You could destroy that with ease with this technique. Or if someone is about to create C rank earth spikes beneath you, and you're noticing that. You could use this technique to cancel out the earth spikes, because lightning release is natural stronger than earth release.

Am able to freely mold lightning chakra with ease..I now gather some lightning chakra in my hands and manipulate its shape..as sensei's clone stands 10 meter away I start to run near the clone..take a jump and unleash a wave of lightning...hitting sensei's clone
Adv: Mid-range. Can be used as a Distraction technique. Low chakra cost.
Dis Adv: Low damage.D rank wind jutsu can take it out with ease.!
