@Yard: I disagree. I think that the bio they are "skinning over" would have to be listed at the bottom of the biography, so that the checker would know exactly what powers are being allowed via the test. The thing about sneaking in powers through the history, though, that's not allowed, PERIOD, bio skin or no. So, that's another rule issue that the skin itself doesn't affect.

A skin would be something akin to...I want to use all of Muu's ability, but with the character Gildarts from Fairy Tale. I would have to take all the tests, etc, to use Muu, but when I make my bio, I can make Gildarts, link to the passed test, and effectively use "Muu only" techniques on this bio.

@Penguin: He didn't. I've had my own version of "Wall of Text" since I joined. It's one of my unique jutsu.

Basically a Custom Bio with the same restrictions.

Anyway,the reason I don't bring it up to Caliburn is because I don't believe it'll change anything, even if I do. I realize I'm not the most...cooperative or civil person when it comes to voicing my opinions on things in the RP, but in the four years I've spent here...very little has changed, and the change that the members have wanted has had to have been fought for, tooth and nail, and they usually ended up as very small alterations. So, forgive me for my cynicism, but it's more or less been proven that the average member has no power in changing anything.

But, the reason I present it as a "just because" issue is because I've not even seen Caliburn explain it beyond "No, not happening". I'm not saying he hasn't, and if he's done so in a public place, that's my bad.


The biggest argument I can think of is that it would take away the uniqueness of the character the powers come form, but lets face it; we have five or six of the same character running around in the RP at any given time. In my personal opinion, that's not a valid reason for not implementing the skin idea, rather it seems that the person in charge is forbidding what is honestly a rather harmless alteration simply because they don't like the idea.

This is simply my opinion, and with my not really participating with the RP anymore, I'm going to be far more curt with my wording.

You're right, not everyone will like the decisions that are made, and this is one I've never agreed with.

Not much has changed? Sorry to say this but that offends me a bit when I have done nothing in the pasts almost 3 years than to edit and better the rp in every part I have been placed in work. Perhaps the edits aren't what you wanted them to be, but this RP is no where near as underdeveloped as it was when I started to RP. And having spent 100 hours of my life in the last 3 weeks working on the jutsu list update i made today, I take that a bit on the wrong side. That the changes might not have been what you desired, ok. I can accept. Because we will never make everyone happy. But to say that nothing has changed? Sorry but I don't like that expression.

Ke everyone knows the skin idea is a good idea. Everyone knows you're right. Will it change? No. Because things wont change here for some reason or another. I for that matter have never seen cali give a legitimate argument over why he refuses to do this either

Edit: To scorps, I think he means like big wholesale changes to the rp. You have worked on the rp alot and it has changed for the better but he, or atleast I, am talking about like ground breaking new things in the rp

I'd like to know what specifically is keeping Zero Kelvin's "Bio Skin" thing from being implemented.

Why is it so important to keep certain abilities locked down to the manga character, if the ability to even hold a bio is based upon passing a test to showcase skill?

If they prove they're capable of deserving the ABILITIES of the bio, why can't they put those abilities on another character?

It's not like NB's RP follows the Manga canon by any means, so I really don't see a reason that's supportable. It kinda seems like it's being forbidden...just because.

Its a technique I made, completely, for a special field. Its made from nothing, doesn't exist, was never seen. Those who know my cjs will spot it I'm sure as my wording is always easy to notice lol

Its actually seems to me that he either doesnt know what your talking about or that he himself is the one with nonsensical arguments. He claims to know what rping is and yet he tells you to roleplay in a way that the character doesn't act? In what way is that proper rp'ing? Better yet, if he truly believes that rping is roleplaying with a character that has a pre set personality, history, etc in a way that completely disregards everything that makes that character then why does he have a problem with skin bios? It seems that he didn't even understand what you were saying from the very beginning because he failed to understand that you wanted danzo's abilites with a different character with the same restrictions. If he believes in a roleplay that completely disregards every aspect of roleplaying in the first place but at the same time wishes to preserve the character's integrity or whatever he wishes, then why is it allowed to have more than 1 canon character running around at once?

As i said, you could tell him everything i just said and you'd get the run around or some weird answer as you just did because things refuse to change here
