The Castle Hidden In the Shadows

*Hebi watches as Amy and Howard speak with each other. He tries not to listen, but he can't help it. He stands up, flies towards them, and grabs Amy's skeleton hand, which begins to cast a bright yellow glow upon contact with his. As the glow dims, her hand begins to resemble that of a human hand.*

Hebi: I know you feel that it's your destiny to be death and as your friend I understand that, but are you scared of losing yourself along the way? Do you fear the unknowns of your future path? Do you ever think that maybe you're not ready for this?

"Oh im so honored, i wish i could say the same.." The shinigami kings voice changes into the voice of a female as he faces sai.

"please do not mistake my formalities for respect. i know not who you or what you are capable of, nor do i care to know. but perhaps you could take a more human form." sai turned and walked toward the place entrance. he raised his hands and the gate were shut behind the king and his guards. "i assume your general told you the conditions of the meetings. the only one who can release Ryun is Queen Kayame. but enough talk for now. just follow my to the senate floor." sai lead the shinigami king through the palace and eyes of the demons glared as sai led the king.

*she continues to walk along with the support in silence for a while as she considers various options that are presenting themselves before deciding to change the subject, as they reached the end of the roof ledge she looked down, down at the grounds around the castle, down at the shadows that engulf the area, down at the darkness...then she jumps up into the air, releasing herself from his grip and landing behind him as she returns to a usual form of the half skeleton, holding his right arm with my human hand so he doesn't fall* why? You know I can easily find out if I wanted to. You know how I feel about this matter. You know it has to happen. You know what chaos will ensue if it doesn't. So why? after everything...

He stopped letting her go as she jumped upwards and landed behind him he turned to follow a she grabbed his hand. Her soft warm skin cradled his in a gentle embrace. I know you could, honestly all you have to do is ask me. I can't lie to you and I won't but I still wish to spare you any worry I can. I know that sounds hypocritical given the situation but still.
He followed her now, holding her hand and trying to provide her any support he could. Because I care for you more then myself, more then anyone else. You're special, you care too much for other's and think nothing of your own torment. You don't deserve to suffer like this, and I can't just sit idly by.

*starts to flicker between forms out of anger and distress* when will you guys realise this is not a choice I get to make. do you know what happened the last time a different death tried to take over? dad was told he was running out of time as the reaper, he had time. so he left. disappeared. tried to act like a human, get a normal job and family. there was mayhem. Souls weren't being collected, people who should have died were still walking the earth in their decaying bodies. Until he came back and got rid of the 'replacement' they'd set up it was horrific, chaotic and...and...I can't let it happen again. When he finally steps down I will be there to take the place. why is that so hard to understand? *flickers to reaper form before finally disappearing out of annoyance*

Hebi:I'm sorry, but that happened a bit before my time. If I had known that, I wouldn't have questioned your decision. Look, I've known you for a long time. Longer than almost anyone here. Any decision you make, I'll support it. And while I can't help but worry about what will happen, I know that this is your path and that whatever choices you make will turn out for the best. You have a higher calling now and I respect that.

"i hear you were looking for me Howard. that and the reaper on my end is in distress and im here to fix that problem. where is Amy?"

Howard turned to face the lightning, Becca had just vanished due to her frustration. He seemed to be confused and misunderstood her frustration towards him and his goals. He only wanted to be there to help and to protect her was that too much. Did he step over a line that he shouldn't have crossed. The man appeared from the lightning addressing him. Oi, old man fancy seeing you here. Well yeah I need your knowledge about death, the Curse placed on the current Angel of Death and information on the Oracle in the Ninth Ring.
Howard walked towards the man bowing his head slightly in respect for an old friend. So what happened to you, seems you've aged.
Howard didn't realize his words until after he had spoken them. He paused now standing before the man. As he asked for Amy a frown appeared upon his face. I'm not sure, she vanished in frustration due to my incompetence.

I don't know. Guess I'm just not that busy tonight. Not many deaths I'm required to attend and there isn't many people around today so I'm bored *continues jumping, flickering between forms as I do so* even Pyrros doesn't want to play, Emery appears to still be with Howard and the others are all out training. bored.

I guess. Only really have to attend the 'special ones', *stilling jumping* the ones that we have a sort of 'agreement' with, Royals *jump* witches *jump* etc. *jump* my sister attends to the demons and such *jump* as they're more rare but the majority of humans *jump* are handled by *jump* the system we have set up, only need to attend *jump* the every day deaths when there's too many to handle, such as *jump* during wars. things appear to be calm today so *jump* I don't have a lot to do. *jump* From a more mortal point of view *jump* I guess you're right *jump* it is a good thing but *jumps of the last mushroom thing, flips in the air and lands in front of Hebi* with not a lot going on and not many people around, it gets lonely and boring you know. atleast when I'm working there's people to talk to...

Howard stood waiting on the man to speak as Emery nuzzled up against his leg trying to get his attention. He looked down before kneeling to pick her up. He stood back up placing her on his shoulder letting her rest on his left shoulder a she nuzzled up against his hair for warmth. There, you feel better little one?
Howard looked down over the landscape noticing Becca and Hebi in the distance he looks back over to Yoshitsune speaking once more. Well she's over there now, I didn't know she returned she's probably still mad at me for my persistence on this matter. I just don't see it as fair that she must give up her live for the humans that don't even care for her existence. So any information you have would be useful.
Howard rose his right hand across his chest reaching up to pet Emery. He lightly scratched the area below her chin as she stretched her head out yawning. He stood waiting for a reply from his old friend.

"it is good to see you too Howard. the problem you are dealing with is not an easy fix. it is no simple task and an affair we should not meddle in. you should listen to what Amy is saying. the task of the reapers is a very important one. if you know about her father, the last time he went under the radar, we had the plague, and walking corpses. the curse is not truly a curse but a duty and a calling. with demons, it is our duty, contrary to popular belief is to keep the underworld in order. true we may terrorize the over world sometimes and fight with the angels but that is just natural. it is the job of the reapers to collect deliver judgement towards to people who time is over. the oracle can not change our path and nor will she. as offspring of the underworld we must for fill the fates we are deal. to change them would be... bad." yoshitsune went to look for Amy but stopped. "you do best to listen to amy. all you can do is wait. if she was taught well she will manage. alas not being a natural bringer of death i do not know how to exactly deal with it. for even i am not safe from death. i will speak to Amy and whatever she decides i will support. i am no longer ruler so i can not order her to do anything, not that she would have done even if i still was."

He steps forward. "After they led their attack, the had the nerve to attack me! All i am looking for is Justice, And closure for those who were lost during the slaughter! "

*turns to sune* just Amy would suffice wouldn't it sune? You knew me before you married my sister after all *she rolls her eyes, slightly shocked by the offer of a hug, reluctantly hugs back before gaining some distance from the demon* to what do I owe this...pleasure?
