Close, but it's supposed to be lava. There could be two reasons for what happened, one, the tunnel wasn't deep enough, or two, the fire didn't go fast enough through the tunnel. Either way, make a new tunnel and this time make it go deeper, and focus the fire to move faster through the tunnel.
