the answer is no and BIG no . all we have about the susanoo is the naruto database book 3
which says that :chakra takes a physical form of formidable warrior.
Just because chakra takes a physical shape does not mean that susanoo is chakra, because if thats the case than when chakra takes the form of fire it would mean that fire is chakra. (when you use a katon the chakra takes the form of fire)

i think the reason why kaiten (or what was the name) wont help against amaterasu is because, it was stated that amaterasu burns for 7 days and nights, so a hyuuga can only survive if he keeps spinning for 7 days and nights.

2. Air palm and air wall palm are blasts of chakra. They also have destructive ability. If Amaterasu makes contact it burns the chakra not the Hyuga.

3. The Byakugan sees the movement and build up of chakra. The Byakugan is the msny insightful Dojutsu. Nagato could read Amaterasu far before it's use. A Hyuga could do the same but better. Thus, they have ample time to prepare air palm or Kaiten.

Since Amaterasu burns the chakra and not the person, since YOU YOURSELF claim it burns chakra, they block Amaterasu. Amaterasu is also noted to burn anything it touches not so much as burns through everything instantly. It's noted to burn slowly. Or else Karin would be dead.
