There are 3 categories Naruto can fall into.These categories are

Medical/support ninja:Heal shikamaru to some extent ,assisting team make in battle and supplying Kyubi chakra shinobi alliance
Offensive:From my view he lack variability of skills
Defensive:Kyubi cloak defense is not as good as susano or gaara sand but it can protect against katon(from what we seen against Madara

i believe Naruto is more of a support/Medical ninja (with Kurama)
PLEASE PROVIDE EVIDENCES NECCESSARY TO SUPPORT YOUR VIEW

offensive:rasengan/rasenshuriken bijuudama, toad, jutsu, taijutsu. defensive: naruto chakra cloak show equals defensive skills like full or perfect madara susanoo... also naruto and kurama can created perfect and great strategy.

hes good at attacking, variety doesn't matter in naruto, especially when your one move and destroy mountains and you can you it 100 times with clones

He used as support because he cares about his friends... If someone attacked your friends and family, would you attack that person back with full power while your friends and family die at your side or would you try to protect them as much as possible?

Remember that time when shikamaru led the team to recollect sasuke from the 4 ninja sound people?

shikamaru placed him in the middle as his explosive personality can easily support the back or the front.



thats the simplest way to think things through.
he's obviously a support.

with experience though, he could be the main hitter.
his skills are too diverse but lacks creativity.

he can either heal, defend or attack.
since he's inexperienced but ridicolously strong.
he's still support.


whats the use of having a nuclear bomb if you don't know how/where to drop it.

Naruto can excel as support and offence. He's not a medical ninja though. Just saying that it's just the natural healing ability of kurama. But you should know that.
