Why is it assumed Yata and Totsuka statements are hyperbole?

Sorry that was uncalled for let's hug. I've actually played all the KoH games.

ANYWAYS, my point was that Yata's definition prevents any contradictions. Totsuka can pierce anything, except Yata Mirror,
The databook didn't exclude yata mirror though. It said it can cut down all enemies, meaning ALL.
The fact that you added "except Yata mirror" proves you know there is a contradiction.

Totsuka can pierce anything, except Yata Mirror, because Yata Mirror makes all attacks lose their meanings. In that way, it's not a contradiction.
No matter how you phrase it, it still remains a paradox. Yata mirror can't repel all attacks if it can't repel totsuka and totsuka cannot cut down all enemies if it can't cut down yata mirror.
No matter how you phrase it, Totsuka being able to pierce Kishi's Word > Some random shinobi (Which is technically Kishi, but writing and plot prevent it from being an accurate account)
You're forgetting something. Kishi drew that fodder and also gave him that dialogue. Which means fodder or not those are actually Kishi's words. Kishi's words> your opinion

No, "Lose all their meaning" actually prevents the possible contradiction.

It's like if I say I can make a 3 pointer everytime from the top of the arc, and you make me shoot it from double the distance. I can make every 3 pointer, but since you changed the conditions, I cannot

When Totsula Blade hits Yata Mirror, it would "lose its meaning", which dictates that it is no longer a sword that can pierce anything.

Kishi has to write character dialouge, not dialouge from himself. That's like saying Kishimoto has a crush on Naruto since Hinata does.

Totsuka was never stated to be able to pierce anything. Even Itachi didn't try to use it to shatter Chibaku Tensei. Yata could probably actually sheild anything but considering that Kakashi has yet to show us 1000 jutsu, people have won one-on-one battles with Uchiha, Amaterasu's so called sun temperature couldn't burn through Gaara's sand, I think its safe to say that there is almost certainly some embellishment in all hype.

But that is a contradiction right there. To justify Yata's repelling of all attacks is the same as justifying the swords ability to break all defenses. It can't be done, and the only case it can would be illogical because you would be disregarding one side (in this instance the swords capabilities to break the shield/mirror) to favor another.
But again, Yata was not only hyped. So there is no contradiction on Yata's whole part.

The sword has no known abilities, it is just said to break all defenses without further explain. The sword's abilities are not defined, it is merely hyped by a Shinobi. The databook however explains, that the mirror has the ability to change all of its attributes to alter its properties in accordance with the incoming attack, thus rendering the attack useless. Because if the shield adapts its attributes on the attack, the attack is logically ineffective. This is no hype, there exists no contradiction and this specific ability. If this sword will be about to his the mirror, the mirror will start to adapt its attributes on this sword to render the attack ineffective. You can imagine it like the sword is mirroring the attack back, not simply defending the user with durability.

You see how the Yata repels the snake's heads? It mirrors them back in all directions, while the shield itself doesn't even have a solid form.

While Danzo's Kunai broke when he hit Susanoo [ ], Sasuke, once hitting the Yata mirror, was reflected and turned back:

-

There is no hype contradicting Yata's databook entry. Even if it was true that the sword can get through any defense, it yet fails to go through the mirror, because the mirror has the specific ability to alter its nature in accordance with the attack. Hence, the attack will always be ineffective, because the Yata mirror adapts its nature on the attack. That, is not hype, that is Yata's ability.

Nice try to twist what I said. Kishi draws characters and gives them their dialogue. Kishi talks to audience through them. Hinata having a crush on Naruto means Kishi wants us to know Hinata has a crush on Naruto. Fodder 98445845 saying shit about the sword means Kishi is Kishi telling his audience what the sword does through the fodder.

Kishimoto stated himself that

- Yata Mirror is invincible
- Totsuka Blade cuts/pierces anything

I would understand if this was dated info that has been disproven... But it hasn't. All feats and scans in the manga suggest Yata Mirror blocks all attacks and Totsuka can pierce anything.

I challenge someone to find me scans suggesting otherwise.

Neji's Kaiten is the ultimate defense, not Yata. If we're going by statements. Yata has also only blocked some exploding seals by feats. Yet, people think it can render things like Madara's meteors non-factors.

And Totsuka has never been stated to cut/pierce anything, just seal anything it stabs. Which, by the way, is overhyped and only effective against immortals. People also seem to think it'll solo Juubito. By feats too, Totsuka has only been shown to stab squishy things.

The fact is that Kishimoto overhypes everything, the databooks themselves are full of him making even the most mundane jutsu into an unstoppable killing machine.
