Chunnin Exam ( Fair or not)

Honestly, I don't believe it was fair to have Naruto and Gaara in the chunnin exam. I know Gaara was there strictly for a plan but still. The way Neji lost really frustrated me. Even though Neji wasn't in the right state of mind, it wasn't fair the way he lost.

Neji most likely trained harder than Naruto. All Naruto did was learn to walk on water, summoned a frog, and use kurama's chakra. In all honesty Neji had this in the bag, but then Naruto used kurama's chakra, came back and beat him.


Then on the other hand Gaara was about to go full on transformation on Sasuke if it wasn't for him using chidori, he actually might have died in that stadium.

But then later on in the series Naruto tries the chunnin exam again with Konohamaru and loses because he used SM. They ban senjutsu cause they say it would be unfair to the other competitors.

What????? and Naruto and Gaara's both using their tailed beast inside them isn't.

All I'm saying is that, the people of the leaf didn't care for tailed beast power which no gennin(without a tailed beast sealed inside them) had a chance against and just let them in the competition.

What's gets me even more raged is that they told Sasuke that if he used the curse mark that they would have to kick him out of the exam. Now I know that the curse mark tears away at yourself but they believed at the time that kurama was a mass of hatred.


So give me your thoughts on this and vote if you think it was fair or not.

And yeah, the way Naruto won the battle was hideous. Just leech to Kurama's chakra and become op.
Same happened with Haku; that kid was much more skilled but Naruto has a charger in him which he can activate whenever he gets pissed off. Wish others had the same; who needs skill anyway?

They already explained why kiba using pills is legal, Sasuke used Curse mark to protect his comrades, also those people there weren't even really trying to win the exam.

A superior Shinobi can still be beat by a novice. I just didn't like the way it went down. If you watch the episodes or read the manga. Naruto builds up talking about how he's gonna beat him and about keeping his promise than the next thing you know he gets destroyed. Than relies on kurama and does a surprise attack. He's definitely not a superior shinobi than neji at that moment.

The Konohamaru thing was filler.
Also, the chunin exams is solely based on who has the abilities to become a chunin. You can use whatever means you need to get there. It doesn't matter how honest you are, how hard you worked, how much you want it. You could argue it's not fair Neji and Hinata had Byakugan. You could argue it's not fair Sasuke had Sharingan and the curse mark. You could argue it's not fair Lee used a forbidden technique. You could argue it's not fair Ino can infiltrate the mind and force you to give up. But in the end, everyone did what they could to show off their skills. And the thing about chunin exams is, no, Gaara and Naruto didn't really have an advantage overall. I mean, yeah, they were more powerful than the lot, but they both lacked in other areas.
P.S., do you remember who became chunin, despite not having any dojutsu, forbidden jutsu, or bijuu chakra? Shikamaru Nara :yeah:

Complaints about the fairness of a ninja fight. The 3rd round rules clearly stated, contestants will fight until one dies, or the proctor deems one opponent is not properly defending themselves. I don't actuall remember Sasuke being forbidden from his curse seal. I'm pretty sure it was just sealed by Kakashi. They didn't want Orochimaru to be able to take Sasuke; the last Uchiha in Konoha.
