Kirin is more powerful because it's not chakra based, rather you're using actual lightning, not fake chakra lightning. It's destructive ower is on a whole other level. It's also faster than the Rasen-Shuriken...much much much faster. Impossible to avoid since it literally moves at the speed of light.

However with that said it's biggest weakness which makes it less practical than the Rasen-Shuriken is all the prep time needed to get it out. You need to be outside, you have to use A-rank fire based jutsu in such a way that you aim it towards the atmosphere to generate enough heat up there to naturally create actual lightning couds...too many varables

here's where you're wrong when refering to kirin....you're talking about chakra based jutsus and nature manipulation which would be true about FSR vs a RSR is that existed or Lightning blade....but Kirin isn't nature manipulation, i.e. fake nature or in this case fake lightning, kirin is actual lightning that is just directed by the user using chakra...but the blast itself being actual lightning as Zetsu stated "is on a completely different scale than what humans can produce with their own chakra & nature manipulation."

But again, in actual battle I'd take the Rasen-Shuriken for the sole reason being the lack of prep time involved and being able to pull this attack out of nowhere...assuming I'm a sage as well cause the FRS does just as much damage to the user, destroying the hands in time

Now if I'm not a sage, then no way am I going with FFRS. I'd just have to plan the fight creating the opportunity to bring up Kirin

Unless a massive amount of chakra is poured into Rasenshuriken, Kirin is much stronger.

Kirin = Small mountain buster, much faster than an FRS, but extremely slow prep time

FRS = Giant craters, can burn through mountains (Jiraiya's odama rasengan was able to go through mountains according to 3rd databook), slower than Kirin, fast prep time

They both got their pros and cons

Overall, Kirin is the stronger more powerful tech

However, Odama FRS > Kirin
