After further analysis..

Before Itachi died he had complete control over DSM Kabuto

Whatever Itachi ordered DSM Kabuto would have done it.

To further back this remember Itachi has shown abilities to control others even from a great distance as noted twice in the manga.

Once when he controlled the girl to seduce Jiraiya

and

When Ao praised him for being able to control people from long distances. Back when they wanted to know who controlled the Edo

Since Kabuto was under Itachi's control he is thus added to Itachi list of Powers.

Another example of this is VOTE Madara. Kyuubi was a part of Madara's Power at the VOTE so it is only logical to say that DSM Kabuto is a part of Itachi's power now.
