Personality: Sasori has often shown himself to be a cold person who often keeps to himself. A trait that had been formed once his parents were killed and he took up puppetry. At many times, the trait of keeping to himself makes him pass off to many as melancholy, something that he may indeed be. Sasori is also a tactical person and prepared for most situations, something that is showed by how often he uses Hiruko, a defensive puppet. Like most great puppetmasters, and Akatsuki members in general, Sasori is greatly creative, a single one of his puppets could have enough compartments and secret weapons to kill an entire army.

Background Info.
History:
At a young age, Sasori's parents were killed by Sakumo Hatake, the White Fang of the Leaf, leaving him with only Chiyo, his loving grandmother. During the time that Sasori's parents were murdered, Chiyo noticed an increasing sadness in Sasori that grew everyday. Noting this, she decided to teach him puppetry, an ability that Sasori would soon take to unimaginable levels.
Starting at the age of five, Sasori began making puppets of his own. Even though there was both Chiyo and Ebizu, his granduncle, a void was still left from the death of his parents. Sasori's only answer to this was making puppets that resembled him. No matter how much he tried to make them like his actual parents, the fact remained that they were still only puppets, unable to give him the parental love he longed for. These very puppets later fell into the hands of Chiyo. This was possibly the first thing that made human puppetry cross his mind.
At the age of fifteen, Sasori fled the village and took to become a infamous, and highly dangerous, missing-nin. Sasori left to join Akatsuki, a place where he could practice his dangerous art of turning deceased humans into puppets. A practice that he would later use himself, as his greatest project.
During his years in Akatsuki, Sasori often stayed inside of Hiruko, a puppet that masters in defense, and was first partnered with the legendary sannin, Orochimaru. Orochimaru and Sasori both held great respect for each other, but once Itachi Uchiha joined the Akatsuki, Orochimaru set his eyes on higher goals. Orochimaru tried, and failed, to steal Itachi's body, hoping to use it as a vessel for a special technique in which he may switch bodies with another when the current body is no longer usable. After failing, Orochimaru fled Akatsuki, leaving Sasori to be partnered with Deidara, a fellow artist, but in a different way. Sasori always kept a grudge against Orochimaru, and set a hypnotizing jutsu upon Kabuto Yakushi, a jutsu that was later released by Orochimaru, and Kabuto willingly joined him and simply attempted to trick Sasori instead.
Sasori became gradually feared through his Akatsuki years and became known as, "Sasori of the Red Sand," and was known greatly for his making of human puppets, something that he practiced 298 times on 298 subjects. Sasori revistited the Hidden Sand twice after he left. The first was by his own will, to make possibly his second greatest puppet (the first being himself), the Third Kazekage. The Third Kazekage was known for his use of sand and iron sand, abilities that made him an exemplary puppet.
Sasori and Deidara were indeed an awkward pair. Deidara was one of the more outgoing Akatsuki members, one who laughed a lot, while Sasori was a member who only went out of his way to speak when spoking too, and even then, on rare occasions. But their abilities made them a great team. Sasori and Deidara later went back to the Hidden Sand. Once again, it was for the Kazekage.
Sasori, in Hiruko, stood by while Deidara and Gaara took a battle to the skies, right over the Hidden Sand forcing Gaara to have to protect the village whilst protecting himself as well, which he inevitably would fail in doing. While leaving the village with Gaara, Sasori was at last able to fight, and he was more than willing too with a fellow puppetmaster, Kankurou. Compared to Sasori, Kankurou's skills in the use of puppets were childs play, the only part that interested Sasori was the fact that Kankurou was using puppets that Sasori himself had made. The battle ended shortly after Kankurou was hit with Hiruko's poison-imbued tail.
The two returned to the hideout, only to find that they would be attacked shortly after by a three-man Team Kakashi (Kakashi, Sakura, and Naruto) with a substitute of Chiyo, his own grandmother, to replace a fourth man. Deidara fled, attracting Naruto and Kakashi to follow him while Sasori stayed in the chambers of Akatsuki, taunting Sakura and Chiyo with Gaara who stood in between them. Sakura and Chiyo fought with great vigor against Sasori, I fight that they would have lost had it not been for earlier preperations with a poison antidote and the quick thinking of using Sakura as a temporary puppet. During this battle, Hiruko was destroyed, and the true Sasori came out of it, revealing that he himself was now a puppet, with his heart in a container marked with his name.
The three fought as hard as they could, Sasori later revealing how the Third Kazekage had "disappeared" and having him battle the two puppets of Sasori's parents that Chiyo kept over the years. The battle was soon made from a large chamber to an outdoor ruin, where Sasori summoned the puppets that he claimed to destroy an entire country with while Chiyo summoned the ten puppets that were used in the Great Ninja War. The battle finally ended with the death of Sasori, a death that he couldn't have hoped to be better. A death that left him in the embrace of his parents.

Hiruko
Hiruko is a defensive puppet. When in public, and even within Akatsuki, Sasori often stayed inside of this puppet within a large compartment where he could easily control him. Hiruko has a long, white tail. And when in the Akatsuki uniform, looks as though he is simply a person with a hunched back, and a tail. Hiruko has compartments that allow him to freely spew needles from his mouth as well as spit poisonous gas from his mouth. Because of Hiruko being a defensive puppet, he is much slower than others but his hard to destroy, unless you have strength equal to Sakura Haruno's or Tsunade's.
Sandaime Kazekage
The Third Kazekage was one of Sasori's greatest creations. Although he is a puppet, the Kazekage still retains his abilities of sand and iron sand. The Kazekage is equiped with such weapons as a sword, like most of Sasori's puppets.
Sasori
During Sasori's practice of human puppetry, Sasori decided to make himself as his greatest project. Sasori has many compartments, most of which contain blades. Due to him being a puppet, he has not aged since he was around the age of fifteen. This is the puppet that most often holsters Sasori's heart.
All/General
Every one of Sasori's puppets have a dangerous poison imbued into their respective weapons, which is why Sakura and Chiyo were even more careful not to be hurt. Sasori holds his heart in a container, meaning that for any one of his puppets, he can put the heart into it and act as the puppet, although he normally resides in his regular Sasori body. When a puppet is smashed apart, he was able to simply draw it back together to it's original form.
