Waltz is one of the most greatest debaters i seen. He actually provided accurate evidence defeating each of your fodder points.

I don't doubt that he's good at debating.

But if Waltz thought I was "fodder" in debating, I assure you, he wouldn't have replied.

i am sure he wouldn't but based on your debating skills in my preta path absorbing TBB, you were a fodder using BS fanfiction instead of actually going through what manga and DB said.

so yes you are to my eyes.

90% of the people in that thread agreed that Madara absorbs TBB's. (aside from BSM Naruto's and Juubidamas, including myself.)

If you actually read what I typed and comprehended it, except skimming through it, maybe you would've understood what I was trying to say.

1) It is reasonable if one has knowledge of how genjutsu works and means to counter it. In both instances, Garra had the number advantage in both situations, which can allow him to be more comfortable in his approach. Chiyo a snad shinobi had this point of view

You must be registered for see images

Garra has knowldge of genjutsu, but also was aware that he had companies nearby if caught in genjutsu. Garra 1 vs 1 has never been as careless, we've seen this in his fight against Deidara. Therefore, this too is subjective.

2) Itachi's genjutsu is fast, but it is usually followed by an offensive attack. This is usually used to leave an opening for his opponent. However, I want to remind you that part 1 Garra had Kakashi's level sneakiness (I'm sure you know what this can apply to)

You must be registered for see images

So, if you really think Garra would simply stand there (himself) and allow Itachi close the gap that's ridiculous. As I have shown Garra uses clones more frequently than most shinobi, we see this too in his fight against the 2nd Mizukage.

3) Garra doesn't need terrain advantage to have to a large portion of sand, nor to utilize sand from the ground.

I really think you fail to consider that Garra has the ability to attack and defend simultaneously. Do I really need to go into great detail of how he does this and why Itachi would fail 90% of the time to counter and considering his stamina? This isn't me underestimating Itachi's stamina, but considering all of what he would need to resort in fighting Garra

sidenote: Have people forgot that Garra can use body flicker (Shushin)?! Not saying his speed is superior, but in utilizing sand Garra has the ability to move along with it.

@Nàmeless I'll address your post later.

Only a hasty generalization as it lacks evidence to support that Gaara is cognizant of Itachi's Genjutsu. An example is Namikaze who became famous in an age of war where his only serious opponents were Ei and Bee. It is evident that Minato has 0 experience in battling Uchiha maintaining Tsukuyomi as not only did he lack the experience but he constantly makes eye contact with the opponent without considering such crucial facts:

It is no doubt a sloppy fighting style to which Guy and kakashi were more aware of----Similarly the Yondiame Raikage Ei fell bait for Madara's binding Genjutsu as his taijutsu based fighting style require's him to maintain eye contact with the opponent at all times. Deidara, suffered a similar fate when first exposed to Itachi's level of Genjutsu as he also lacked experience in combating the technique. Similarly, Kazekage's fighting style revolves around eye contact. Thus far there is nothing indicating that Gaara is knowledgeable of Tsukuyomi and to surface that; he as no counter to the Genjutsu; much less Itachi's adept control over the technique. Claiming that Itachi will resort to offence is not only far-fetched but entirely negated by the toll Tsukuyomi [executed by a Kage-Bunshin] had on Kakashi. Gaara's furtive is futile before the Sharingan. As regards your counter for having a terrain advantage that sand was supplied by the and pillars manipulated from it to support the imploding roof. As I've said, if specific jutsu are contrasted then one would easily agree that some elements of Gaara's arsenal would rival Itachi's to some extent, however, all Itachi needs to triumph Gaara is Genjutsu. As regards Shunshin: ..[ ].The Kazakage has no counter to Izanami, Tsukuyomi, Dusk crow Genjutsu or Ukataka...simply, as Itachi's fighting style depicts Genjutsu to be easily be his first resort to any combat situation as it provides a swift, effortless victory; Gaara irrefutably loses this matchup.

Lol @ those member wanking people. They can't think of anything on their own to counter or respond and go all "ermahgerd thread iz killed" because of another person's counter.

OT: It depends; both sides can provide arguements at such matchup; however i link results of battles to their scenario most of the time; overall interesting thread.

hahaha so after all of this you resort back to, "well genjutsu owns" lol. What's the point og debating this if you feel that is the only point that matters in this match? All of the fancy posting is for show now, when in the end all you have done was resort to genjutsu. Any user can easily state this without any effort.

The fact that genjutsu is owning this, knowing that we have only seen short/med genjtusu, is laughable against a long range fighter. I have clearly presented occasions from the manga which genjutsu can be countered (clones/distance), hell there is even an instant when Itachi used genjutsu on a clone lol. You haven't demonstrated a way for Itachi to avoid Garra's weeping sand defensively or offensively. My time has been wasted quoting you.

@Madara Rules, don't REP my post in here if you're going to call everything fodder in the thread for everyone else to see. Just noticed that was towards Cross, nevermind lol

@Nameless I haven't forgotten about you, you post requires a little more time, but from what I skimmed your focus was really on part 1 Garra and failed to recognize his growth/improvement in part2, which have been stated in the manga. I'll have still have your reply sometime today or tomorrow (

Genjutsu is the greatest deciding factor in any match against Itachi. We've seen Shinobi like Orochimaru and Deidara fail before his Genjutsu. Having a fancy arsenal means nothing before the Sharingan. It is illogical to say Gaara would best Itachi when he cannot bypass his Genjutsu and from analyzing your post's in Gaara's favor thus far the only solid method of Gaara killing/besting Itachi is outlasting his chakra pools which isn't happening given Itachi's intellect and the fact that it not entirely possible. None of Gaaara's offences are breaching The Susano'o....

the only thing Garra has to outlast is Susanoo usage, which isn't very long considering he cant stay in there the entire time and has to provide offensive attacks. Once outside of Susanoo Garra kills/best Itachi on every platform (excluding genjtusu of course). Given Garra's intellect Itachi using susanoo would be his downfall.

But if you wish to use the genjutsu argument, no need to continue this.

Itachi already has ways to put gaara into a genjutsu, if gaara is still on the surface then simply closing the gap via shunshin is more than enough to make eye contact. If gaara takes flight, Itachi can utilize his crows which can simply fly up to gaara and re form as Itachi and use dusk crow genjutsu.

As far as feats, I haven't seen much of an improvement that would benefit him in this case, considering Itachi's quick execution and Susano'o. I'm researching a bit as well, the only time I've seen him use an enormous amount of sand was in his Deidara battle; which was stated he had the geographical advantage. This means that location had some bearing on the amound of sand he could create and control. The other time was when he fought his father, again, at/near the Sand Village judging from that page Crossroads linked, I think it's post #111. I don't think he used any large scale attacks in the Madara battle (which was void of any sand he didn't have to create). Again, I'm still researching a bit. But so far, it looks like the evidence is against you (He used large scale sand waves in sand areas which was clearly stated as giving him the advantage, but didn't do so when he wasn't around sand).

In part 2, he even touched the ground to do this [ ]. This further suggest he needs to channel his chakra through the ground and such, at least for his sand to be a considerable amount. And loose sand most likely produced this [ ] (since we have undeniable proof of him touching the hard ground earlier to produce a large quantity of sand).

I really do think the evidence is against you here.

EDIT - Also, in the page you provided (Sasuke and Gaara skirmish), Gaara has to raise his arms to control even that amount. That's concentration right there; limiting his mobility. That sand he's holding in the air like that is the only sand he would be able to move around, he's going to have to try and chase Itachi around with that glob, while not being able to use any other than that which he is controlling. He would have to drop it to create or utilize more. It's honestly hard to envision him not being a victim of Itachi's finger genjutsu (especially considering the range at which I showed Itachi can cast it; lots of battles starts even closer than that).

1. Gaara shall look into Itachi's eyes. It is habitual of Godaime to do so against opponents. which had the Mangekyō Sharingan activated. In addition to stated, Gaara looked . Two instances, in which Gaara peered into the eyes of an Uchiha; notable as well.

Gaara's Fighting Style, revolves around Eye-Contact. He is a long distance fighter which recovers constant analysis of the opponent and whereabouts of the stated. Gaara, cannot avoid eye-contact to the extent that either Kakashi or Maito can as they've been train to do such, possibly due to Obito's presence [in Kakashi's regard] and due to Kakashi's presence in Gai's regard. Gaara wasn't raised locally close towards an Uchiha, other than Sasuke and as stated, he glanced into his eyes.

2. Gaara cannot beat Susano'o. He lacks sufficient power to destroy Itachi's Susano'o prior to the inclusion of Kagami no Yata and Tsurugi no Totsuka. Yes, Itachi lacks chakura reserves to continuously keep Susano'o activated. However, such is not required. Why? If Gaara decides to "run" away, Itachi can simply de-activate Susano'o. Gaara can hit him while deactivated? Blasphemy - . In addition to such, it wasn't Kagami no Yata that blocked Kirin.. Nii-san utilized Basic, V1 Susano'o as V2+ require more time to activate.

If Gaara attempts to combat Itachi while in Susano'o, than majority of sand can be absorbed rendering Gaara's fighting style obsolete and thus an easy victory thereafter. Underestimation of Susano'o is evident.. Not to mention the Spiritual Weapons being underrated as well.

3. Yes Gaara can withstand Amaterasu, via Chakura-Enfused Sand. However, does Gaara possess the speed [sand speed] to compare to Amaterasu? No. Amaterasu will hit Gaara and Gaara lacks any recognized fashion of extinguishing the flames.

4. Unnecessary. Genjutsu shall suffice; Basic Ocular Genjutsu or Tsukuyomi. Either will bring about victory for Itachi. It may seem vexatious to repeatedly say such; however, it is simple. As highlighted by Waltz-sama, Orochimaru and Deidara fell to Genjutsu. As did Shee and in another regard, Kabuto. Genjutsu is Itachi's forté and main fashion of defeating an opponent. If you expected a more illustrious manner of defeat, you shan't receive.

Did sasuke have to touch the sky before he used kirin? No. So why can't gaara use sand without touching the ground? After all he was far up in the sky against deidara and he brought up a huge amount of sand in that fight, unless you have proof that he went down to touch the ground.

Against kimimaro, he used sand tsunami without touching the ground with his hands, although his feet were on the ground, nothing suggests he has to touch the ground to make sand.

Against naruto he was able to make a sand copy of the shukaku's body in nearly an instant in a forest, of course without touching the ground and without availability of loose sand in the vicinity.

Temari also said gaara has the ability to control sand in the air and on the ground and we know that there is no time that there is no dust in the air. Gaara also conjured sand in the air to stop the fight between 2 shinobi when he was giving the speech just before the war and I did not see him touching the sand to make it move(also notice that his gourd was closed).

Are you serious about the finger genjutsu? We all know that Itachi is a liar as stated by kabuto. If such a genjutsu exists, he could have put kabuto under it without using izanami.

Sasuke's chakra was mixed with that. Moot point.

Yeah I know, I said he clapped his hands.

You're misunderstanding; reread. I even gave a page where he's obviously not touching the ground to use sand. But to create a large quantity, he OBVIOUSLY has to touch the ground when it's hard or clap his hands (to produce large waves of sand). This is shown in part one and part two. He also has to touch the ground to harden the sand gathered from sand tsunami (manga proof). The point I'm arguing is that to use sand waves effectively (hardening it, then recreating it, etc) on the same scale of sand tsunami or larger, he's going to have to remain on the ground. Then again, using large waves also tire him. As in that battle with Deidara. So using large sand waves do come at a cost.

On Naruto Wiki:

"From the Sand Gaara carries in his gourd, he grinds the rock and minerals from underground into a large area of sand"

Yeah yeah, I know it's Naruto Wiki. But seeing as its reference is the databook [ ], it further strengthens my argument, together with all the pages I provided, of why it's highly unlikely and illogical that his first move would be to take flight; or battle from the air.

Yes I'm serious. If Itachi used that same genjutsu against Kabuto; it most likely wouldn't have worked. Theoretically, all he has to do is to continue absorbing natural energy. Izanami is miles above that genjutsu. The only way out is acceptance. Also, Itachi had a specific goal for his genjutsu, he couldn't risk the possibility of Kabuto recognizing it and escaping via genjuitsu kai. He planned to use a powerful genjutsu from the start, his first plan was Tsukuyomi (even before Kabuto revealed his 'immunity' to genjutsu). So that's not really a good point.

I would like to say something about the susano underestimation. Susano is actually a strong defense but gaara's own offense is actually overlooked and always underrated. Examples of gaara's attacks are:
-Desert requiem: This jutsu actually made the ground to quake, now that is just pure power, the only other jutsus that have been shown to make the earth quake are madara's meteors and tbbs.

-Sand tsunami: Now this jutsu is so underrated. Have you ever seen the effect of a tsunami in real life? Now imagine that tsunami using a heavier and denser material. This is so heavy and with the momentum it packs and the height it gains, it will really cause damage to susano, although people even go to the extent of saying sasuke can go through it with a chidori, just to show how much it is underrated.

-Sand funeral: This jutsu crushes an opponent into pure blood, even kimimaro had to up his defense albeit his already great defense. Now this jutsu if used with a large amount of sand like say a pyramid, the effect would be devastating even for susano.

Now all these jutsu above are used with sand only but Gaara has the ability to add to the mixture THE HARDEST MINERALS in the earth(such as DIAMONDS, IRON, and others). We know that gaara can manipulate sand as he wills, so why can't he use super hardened sand spike to pierce susano?

Some people may underrate gaara's attacks(most of which were shown against kimimaro) because they seemingly had no effect against kimimaro whose defense is thought by people to be weaker that any form of susano, which is a lie. Kimimaro's bones are super hard and he even powered it even more with the curse mark which is sage mode as we know now. Albeit the super strength of his bones, which were even hyped by orochimaro, when he used the strongest one against gaara's defense it literally shattered, which brings me to also how gaara's defense is so underrated.

I would like you guys to ponder about this and get back to me.

There's nothing really to ponder about. The majority of your attacks rely on Gaara catching him. Sand isn't doing anything to Susano'o. Gaara proved this with his statement and strategy [ ]. Gaara's sand isn't breaking through Susano'o, "external attacks won't work". Another thing, what people often overlook is his statement before that [ ]. "The sand is now lighter, then that means...". <---what does lighter sand entail? Faster and easier to control. Before that, he didn't even attempt such a maneuver. Why we ask? Because Madara could have simply dodged the sand coming up from his feet. So the purpose of lightening the sand was to quickly grapple Susano'o (as shown in the page), keeping it from moving so he can yank him out. The pages happen in the following order: [ ] - [ ]. That only happened because of the sheer speed and control he had over his lightened sand. Madara's reaction time didn't even allow him the chance to attempt to break free. Again, he didn't attempt it until his sand was lightened. His words proves this. This time, Gaara won't have Onoki with him. And the sand from the ground is even slower, and less powerful. And as I stated near the ending of my first lengthy counter, Susano'o users are capable of shielding underneath. Gaara didn't attempt any external attacks because he knew it would be useless, further proving he wouldn't take to the skies and try to destroy it externally. Remember, he knows nothing about Itachi's sickness or chakra reserves. He does however know that external attacks are useless (stated by him). So I don't see him wasting chakra on such gambles.

Anyways, Gaara isn't getting pass the start of the battle.

Irrelevant?

Gāra, is in acquisition of underrating by a plethora of members. However, again neither Gāra's offence nor defence can penetrate Itachi due to Susano'o and inevitable defeat by Tsukuyomi in the beginning of the battle.

@Pro-Gāra Offensive Statement
It is idiotic to attack. Reasoning? Kagami no Yata cannot be penetrated by any attack [ ]. Basic Information. How will he attack something that he cannot lay hands upon. In addition to stated, Itachi's V1 Susano'o was able to withstand overwhelming power [ prior to activating Kagami no Yata.

Kirin travels at the speed of sound [ ], which according to Zetsu [in NV], is 1/1000 of a second. Itachi never had Susano'o activated within the time-frame that Kirin was used [ ] meaning he activated it in less than 1/1000 of a second.

Gaara has no attack comparable to such in terms of speed, nor does he have the offensive capability to penetrate V1 Susano'o. In addition to such, Kagami no Yata shall tank all other tanks and Tsurugi shall fuin the sand. Adding to this, as said previously, Tsukuyomi will end this battle quick and early.

Either Tobirama or Hashirama fought Uchihas all their life, yet they never close eyes when they face them. Didn't stop them from stomping Uchihas(and the strongest ones at it). Kishi has a low regard concerning Sharingan genjutsu in his fights, because he knows it's only good to impress kids
