@BlazeKev90: Cannot be a reasonable argument if there is nothing pointing towards that and also that we've seen Gaara peer into various Sharingan without being cautious Genjutsu, Madara [as Nous highlighted] and Sasuke are examples. As regards Tsukuyomi it all depends on the initial distance of combatants if they are close range, Gaara is finished. Sand Tsunami is subjective to an advantageous terrain and I've already addressed the issue in my initial post in this thread. Itachi doesn't 'need to look' as his Genjutsu is faster established than any of Gaara's jutsu; A Kakashi without the sharingan was able to peer through his bunshin means Itachi would do similarly with the sharingan. Amataersu is agreeable. Gaara having control of the environment is once more subjective to an advantageous terrain. I would agree that Gaara does possess an arsenal and fighting style to rival that of Itachi but in reality the fight isn't progressing beyond Genjutsu.
1) It is reasonable if one has knowledge of how genjutsu works and means to counter it. In both instances, Garra had the number advantage in both situations, which can allow him to be more comfortable in his approach. Chiyo a snad shinobi had this point of view

Garra has knowldge of genjutsu, but also was aware that he had companies nearby if caught in genjutsu. Garra 1 vs 1 has never been as careless, we've seen this in his fight against Deidara. Therefore, this too is subjective.
2) Itachi's genjutsu is fast, but it is usually followed by an offensive attack. This is usually used to leave an opening for his opponent. However, I want to remind you that part 1 Garra had Kakashi's level sneakiness (I'm sure you know what this can apply to)

So, if you really think Garra would simply stand there (himself) and allow Itachi close the gap that's ridiculous. As I have shown Garra uses clones more frequently than most shinobi, we see this too in his fight against the 2nd Mizukage.
3) Garra doesn't need terrain advantage to have to a large portion of sand, nor to utilize sand from the ground.

I really think you fail to consider that Garra has the ability to attack and defend simultaneously. Do I really need to go into great detail of how he does this and why Itachi would fail 90% of the time to counter and considering his stamina? This isn't me underestimating Itachi's stamina, but considering all of what he would need to resort in fighting Garra
sidenote: Have people forgot that Garra can use body flicker (Shushin)?! Not saying his speed is superior, but in utilizing sand Garra has the ability to move along with it.
