I don't know about other people here on NB, but music is probably my main hobby - I spend nearly my entire day either listening to music or playing guitar (even in class I have an earbud in, lol
). My question is... why do we connect with music so much and like it so much?
I know the lyrics can make us connect with the song, that's understandable, but purely from a sound standpoint; why do certain things sound good to us and even make us emotional sometimes? For those of you who play an instrument, you may know that many popular types of music follow pretty well established chord patterns. But that is not all I'm talking about here. I'm thinking of the fact that many of us (I do at least) really connect with music at a deep level that we don't share with a lot else.
Maybe I'm different, or maybe you agree with me. I appreciate your thoughts, as always! Thanks! =D
