But seriously, Part 2 stomps Part 1. It's like comparing Rikudou Sennin to Kiba.

I think you should have said "I like part 1 better than part 2" and those who disagree should say "I like part 2 better than part 1". This is a purely opinion based thread. It is like someone saying red>blue.

I prefer Part 1. it got more things right. that being said Part 2 is more mature then Part 1 which is a definite plus but is probably the one advantage it has over Part 1.
Part 1 doesn't have the rampant use of tnj and its dark themes completely clash with Naruto's truly ridiculous levels of idealism. Sure, part 1 had some dark themes but they weren't so dark that Naruto looks like an idiot for being idealist. However, Naruto's not idiot because no one calls him out on it. Thus, I'm left wondering is Naruto dark or light. pick one! the Naruto-Sasuke relationship was handled much better in Part 1. More characters were developed in Part 1. Part 2 destroyed the central theme of with hard work anyone can surpass a genius since Naruto only wins since he can master jutsus quickly via shadow clones and is the Child of Prophecy, so of course Naruto's going to win. He isn't the underdog anymore

Part 1 was amazing because chunin exams and team seven
early part 2 was good too but after sasuke formed taka the manga became so lame .

1. of course, my argument that Naruto idealism worked in part 1 when the series was less dark. because the series wasn't dark, his idealism made sense. Now that that series is dark, Naruto idealism is unrealistic. within the context of part 2, Naruto idealism is unrealistic.

3. I suppose but now Naruto's ability to learn is crazy. This contracts Naruto's themes. You can surpass a genius (if you have nearly unlimited chakra with which to train). There's no way Naruto could have learned rasenshurken and Sage Mode without the shadow clone technique. since no one else has Naruto's chakra level with which to do that, the themes of Part 1 have been changed. Naruto now has an unfair advantage that someone like Lee can't surpass.

4. what? the prophecy is about a student of Jiraiya, so it's not Jiraya. he assumed it was Pain but he changed his mind in the end. many other now assume the child of prophecy is Naruto and it must be Naruto since he's the last living student of Jiraya

5. All Konoha 11 except Naruto beg to differ. Sai (after his intro arc) and Yamato beg to differ. Hidan, Kakuzu, and Zetsu big to differ. All non-Leaf and non-Akatsuki beg to differ with the exception of some Kage and Killer Bee. Part 2 focuses on Naruto and Sasuke's development at the expense of others

6. not sure what you're arguing here. in part 1; there was less tnj and it was still fresh. Thus, it worked. It does not work in Part 2.

Part one made more sense. Part two has more stuff though.

I prefer part one because the drawings looked better. The fights were more designed on strategy. Making ninja tools extremely important in battle. It wasn't about over powering your opponent. Yeah part 2 has great new abilities and destructive techs. The animation doesn't help with me in part 2 either. Some fights are done well but they're are some that look horrible. Especially compared to part 1.
