FYI Kabuto is extremely vulnerable to Amaterasu when in liquid form

Like I just told the other guy kabuto knows all their moves an told them he could not be touched he would not liquify if he knew Amaterasu would take him out kabuto smart not stupid..an I believe when he liquefies he go's into the ground so good luck with the Amaterasu thing.

you're the one that he's overestimating itachi,honestly i still have no idea how itachi can survive white rage+kimimaru's bones from underground,that aside you're downplaying kabuto's feats from speed and reaction that can allow him to dodge totsuka,not to mention if hit by amaterasu,kabuto can chop any limbthat was hit and perform the oral rebirth to return band new.
kabuto was clearly trying not to hurt sasuke,or else both of sasuke and itachi would have been one shotted from the start of kabuto used any offensive move like kimimaru's bones or that earth jutsu instead of trying to take sasuke's body,and that would have been quite embarrasing,well too bad pnj prevented that.

This fight could have gone either way. Both were fighting to capture not kill. You are forgetting that it was Kabuto who brought Itachi back in the 1st place. If Kabuto wanted Itachi gone.......

......He could have simply undid the Edo tensei on him and that would have been the end of Itachi right there.



True but Kabuto is also a Sage. Sages don't go down so easily. Besides Kabuto's intelligence is on par with Itachi if not higher. If the intent to kill was their goal it wouldn't play out as it did.



That's assuming Kabuto would use the same strategy to fight Itachi if it was an intent to kill. Amateratsu doesn't work on Kabuto as he can move the ground to bury and evade it. He can cancel out Susanoo with his sound jutsu so Yata Mirror and Blade isn't going to be an issue for him.

I'm not saying Itachi couldn't win this fight, but it isn't a sure thing that he would win either.

Sound Jutsu only worked on sasuke. Itachi still used Susanoo to protect sasuke while he took the blow as an edo. In the fight sad to say but Sasuke was holding Itachi back.

Why did Itachi hold those back?! Because he couldn't afford to kill Kabuto because of Edo Tensei. It's not some unfair situation... Kabuto used his power to CREATE that situation. So Amaterasu, Totsuka, etc are countered due to Edo Tensei, Sound Genjutsu, and DSM evasion (all combined).

I'll be happy to post a mire detailed analysis, but I have a lab in about half an hour.

same goes for kabuto,he never attempted big scale attacks near sasuke because he needed him alive,and itachi followed that because he always was by his brother's side.
then again how full susanoo could have protected itachi from the sound genjutsu(which he needed sasuke's help to get out of it or else he would have been done for).
