Thanks so much for this, and congrats on becoming Sensei. I didn't say thanks in the thread and thought I would say it here. I hope to be a Sensei one day, but it's far too early to think about that.

Good. So, tell me everything you about Lightning Ninjutsu, strengths and weakness, advantages/disadvantages, known users etc.
Shayde takes a second to gather his thoughts.
While scratching his head, he lets out slight sigh and starts to go over a basic revision of Lightning Release in his head. Upon completing this revision he says,
"Lightning Release is achieved when the user increases the frequency of vibrations in their chakra. This increases the jutsu's penetrating damage with physical ninjutsu like the Chidori and increases the users speed in supplementary jutsu like the Raikage's Lightning Armor. As an added benefit the electrical current in Raiton causes the target to experience numbness and paralysis.
Lightning Release is superior against Earth Release as the electrical current easily travels through the ground and breaks the jutsu apart. An example of Lightning being superior to Earth is when Kakuzu used his Earth Style: Earth Spear to protect himself from physical attack and was successful but it fell pray to Kakashi's Lightning Blade.
Lightning is inferior to Wind Release as the wind makes an excellent electrical insulator. I can think of many instances when Wind has been used to counter a Lightning Technique, but Naruto's Rasengan can counter Sasuke's Chidori even though Chidori is an attack that penetrates.
Lightning attacks can be made stronger with Fire Release. Using the heat from Katon to alter the atmosphere's pressure allowing natural lightning to be used as fuel for techniques. An example of this is Sasuke's use of Kirin against Itachi.
Lightning also has a unique effect on Water based attacks as Lightning is easily conducted by the Water, allowing smaller Lightning techniques to cover a large area. If an enemy uses a water technique to become unaffected by attacks like the Houzuki Liquidation Technique, using a lightning technique would make the enemy become completely paralyzed and unable to move.
Lightning Release is regularly used by ninja from Kumogakure, especially Darui and A, as they both specialize in special Forms and Nature Releases. However, Kakashi and Sasuke from Konohagakure as well as Kakuzu from the Akatsuki have shown to be especially efficient in using Lightning Release, through various combinations of Chidori and Raikiri and the jutsu Lightning Release: False Darkness.

I sit down and cross my legs, placing my hands on my lap and try to focus on clearing my mind, this proves to be slightly difficult as the thunder roars in the distance. I continue to meditate on what I know, all the while trying to figure out why my sensei wishes me to meditate on my knowledge of Lightning Release.
Lightning paralyses enemies... Breaks through Earth Release... Is weak to Wind Release... No, it must be something more basic than that... But what? I can't think about this right now... I need to do as instructed and relax.
I simply sit and listen to the thunder crash through the sky for a bit, letting the sound of the thunder and lightning be the only matter on my mind. I can slightly feel my chakra respond to the sound of the thunder and lightning, but I can't figure out what to do with this information... I let out a slight sigh and ask,
"Sensei, what am I supposed to do? I can't seem to figure this out... I think I can feel my chakra responding to the sound of the thunder and lightning, almost like it's surging, but I have no idea what to do with this information..."
I sit there with a slightly blank look on my face, expecting a cryptic answer, but hoping a pointer.

I smile slightly, glad that for once a student actually requires more then a few words of instruction.
Well think about what lightning is, fast moving, high energy, vibrating particles seemingly raging at random, however they follow a very specific path. Relax and imagine lightning surrounding you, you want your chakra to mimic it. Vibrating, fast moving, coursing through you and filling you with energy.

Pretty sure you can reply to training, just not battles/NW events. Training isn't bio specific unless its KG/HA training. If it were Sharingan/Sharingan Genjutsu training then you'd have to wait for the bio to be healed and recovered.
Good. Now take this paper *hands you a small square note of paper* remember the feeling you are experiencing and try to mentally command that energy to pool into your hands and then enter the paper. If done right, the paper will crinkle up.

Shayde takes the paper and holds it in his hand. He then starts to focus on the paper while trying to command his chakra.
Focus... Power... Vibrate my chakra... Focus...
The paper starts to wrinkle up, but not enough that it looks complete.
"Damn... I'll just try again."
I flatten out the small creases and start again. Focusing my chakra and willing it in to my hand.
The paper starts to wrinkle up again, this time it's more noticeable.
"Whew... This is harder than I thought. Certainly easier than getting my Sharingan, but not by much..."
I look at the paper and hope that it's enough for a pass.
"Is this good enough Sensei?"
I take a moment to reflect on everything that's happened since entering Konoha.
Fire... Lightning... Water... Sharingan... It won't be long now... Brother.
(My brother recently joined using my sisters account and will be my brother in the rp, so I'm kind of excited about how much fun we can have together. I know that custom EMS are tabu right now, but he wants to be a Yuki any way so meh... =D)

- It doesn't require hand seals, so it's almost instantaneous.
- It isn't restricted to a single shape, so the possibilities are almost endless.
- It doesn't require much chakra, so it can be used frequently.
- It can reach up to Mid Range, for a D-Rank that's decent.
- It's basic manipulation, so it can be easily countered.
- It's D-Rank, so it's not as strong as other techniques. The key is in how you use it.
- Since the manipulation comes from your body, if your doused, the jutsu could potentially backfire.
- Combining it with a shuriken and metal wire could potentially cause some major damage.
- Dousing the enemy would add to the damage and may cause paralysis.
- Could use a large, slow fire technique as cover and shoot through it with this, since it's faster it could catch the enemy off guard.
Ways to counter:
- Using a Wind technique of equal rank or power would cause the jutsu to be negated, since Wind > Lightning and in the case of a stalemate the one with the nature advantage would win.
- Using a stronger Lightning jutsu (1 or 2 ranks higher, I'm not sure) may negate the attack, and add to the counter.
I hold my right hand out and start by collecting chakra in my right hand. I don't feel much of a change so I grab my wrist with my other hand and pretend it's like a Chidori. (That technique is far too good for me to use at this level, so my imagination will have to do... :'().
Using my left hand to help provide the change in nature required I concentrate on the previously stated emotions and feelings. I vibrate my chakra and let my mind concentrate on the jutsu, allowing my chakra to follow a direct path from my body to my arm, and from my arm to my hand.
My hand starts to feel slightly numb, this is how I know I'm on the right track. I continue to focus my chakra, gathering it until my hand lets out a hum. I then release the stored energy in the form of several bolts directed at a nearby rock. It barely makes a mark in the rock, but I feel overjoyed and somewhat proud that I could do even that.
"How was that, Sensei. Good enough for a pass?"
My face has a smug, almost arrogant, look, but this is just me being excited at the fact I just performed my first Raiton Jutsu.

Strong points
- Once again, no hand seals. Is therefore quick and efficient.
- It doesn't require proper "direction". It seeks the enemy out through the ground.
- It's quick and short requirements allow for incredible, on the fly, combinations. Such as mixing it in with Kenjutsu or Taijutsu.
- Requires you to be close to the enemy, but this isn't as severe as you still have at least one hand to defend with.
- Requires land to be able to transmit itself.
Dousing or surrounding the enemy with Water then striking them would render them stunned, maybe paralyzed.
Using this to catch the enemy off guard then attacking with something else, a tool, a blade, a long range tech etc.
Trapping the enemy in a Earth Style Jutsu may increase the effects.
Ways to counter:
Surrounding yourself in a Wind Style technique would insulate yourself from the attack.
Using a technique to lift yourself from the ground would eliminate the possibility, since the attack travels through the ground.
Once again I hold my right hand out, this time controlling my chakra and adding lightning to the mix is easier. I lay my thoughts of not being able to control my chakra to some extent to rest. I let my chakra rapidly move, jolting from one finger to the next, using my palm as a conductor. As the chakra gets fired from one part of my hand to the next I try and speed up the process, trying to determine when it's safe to release it. Not strong enough and the jutsu fails, too strong and I can shock myself, or worse. Once again I size up that poor rock over there, I imagine that if it had a face it would be crying it's poor eyes out, I visualize myself breaking it apart by sending a wave of electricity through it with enough force that it breaks... As soon as I think I've reached the proper rate of chakra in my palm I slam it into the ground and let it out in a concentrated burst, concentrated at that poor rock. My attack was successful, but not at all strong, it barely made an impact. My training has only begun, but I can tell that that poor sweet rock will be the target of many awe inspiring and simply epic Raiton Jutsu.

Strong points
- Full Body Protection, limited to weaker techniques.
- Causes opponent to experience burns and shocks from direct contact.
- Requires no hand seals, so it can easily performed.
- You need to be close, putting you in danger if your not prepared.
- Can cause severe damage to yourself if you get doused, as the electrical current covers your entire body.
- It can't block all kinds of attacks, it's mainly for charging the enemy and dealing damage.
Dousing the enemy and charging them may cause more than simple burns and slight paralysis.
Using this to take down the enemy, then finishing them with another jutsu or attack will work.
If you and the enemy are standing on a Water source, using this could severely increase the effectiveness of the jutsu.
Ways to counter:
Dousing the enemy will cause the jutsu to backfire, increasing it's effectiveness and turning it on the user.
Creating a wall of Wind around yourself will insulate you from the effects of the jutsu.
"So create a "barrier" of sorts from my chakra and turn it into a shield of Lightning? Sounds simple enough..."
I start by getting my chakra prepared for the inevitable discharge. Performing the same rapid movements that I did with the previous Jutsu, but this time it's performed all over. I feel the same change in Nature as I did in the last 2 jutsu. I visualize myself being surrounded in an electrical current, having it wash over me, then I picture myself smashing into our good friend over there... It needs a name. How about Rocky? Yeah, I imagine smashing into rocky and breaking it in twixt.
Then I release all the chakra I've been storing and changing in a single burst, letting the energy surround and protect me from minor attacks, and damage those who would be foolish enough to try and attack me head on. I charge head long into Rocky and do some more damage, but it's not as strong as I envisioned, the attacks simply makes a scorch mark and stops with that... The day I break this rock in two will be a happy day...

Strong points
- Like the last jutsu, no hand seals. Just chakra control.
- The knock-back effect can throw the opponent off an leave them open to other attacks.
- It's more concentrated than the last one, making it a little bit stronger or resilient that the other jutsu.
- It doesn't cover your entire body like the last one.
- Like the last one you need to be close, and since it doesn't cover your entire body, you are left open.
Using this with a sword would give the user a cool "knightly" look... Oh yeah and it would help the user defend if the shield fails.
Using a Water jutsu, then bashing the enemy with the shield would cause the knock-back effect and increase the shields electrical capabilities.
Ways to counter:
Hitting the shield with a Wind Jutsu that can cut through it will render it useless.
Dousing the enemy may cause the jutsu to backfire like with the previous one.
"Oookay. Next one is more of a shield than a barrier. Should be simple enough."
I start by charging the chakra in my left arm. I changed it up because why bother learning it if I'm just going to stick to one hand. I vibrate my chakra and visualize a round shield of condensed Lightning. I start to pool my chakra near my hand and release it in a single motion. It's not particularly big or strong, but I managed to pull it off, so with that I dash at poor Rocky and slam the shield into him with everything I have. A strong shockwave is given off of the shield, but does nothing to Rocky, I get pushed back thanks to the recoil.
Any questions I have for this one will be the same as the last one.

Concentrate lightning chakra to a hand and release several lightning bolts at an enemy in the form of a wave.

Strong points
- No hand seals.
- Low rank, low chakra consumption, it has to be fast.
- Since you have to be close to use it, it should be easier to hit the target.
- Close range, if used unsparingly you're left open to counter.
- Because you release it like a wave, (I assume) that if you are doused, you will get shocked.
Use this to shock the enemy, then finish them with something else.
Douse the enemy first, to increase the effects.
If it's the same as the technique shown in the video, the line of bolts, then use it to corner the enemy.
Ways to counter:
Either insulating yourself with Wind or hitting the enemy with a wind/ water jutsu should stop this technique, unless the jutsu is the same as the one in the video, then using a Fuuton Jutsu to move out of the way/ insulate yourself should suffice.
I take a second to consider my next move.
(I'm unsure how the jutsu acts, as you say it's released as a wave from your palm, but Kuroma uses it as a line of bolts. I guess I'll go with a wave from my hands, if needed I will re-do the jutsu, no shortcuts.)

This time, instead of releasing the energy as a bunch of uncontrollable bolts or a stream guided through the ground, I focus on releasing it through the air, keeping it's shape and ensuring that it hits the target with full force. I let the chakra build and change the nature to Lightning. As the energy courses through my hand I picture a force of energy slamming into the rock and shifting it back, leaving scorch marks and burns while doing so. I release the energy from my hand, and as it travels through the air it lets out a howl. As it hits the poor rock it leaves minor scorch marks as a slight "thud" sound is made.
"Well, that was pretty cool. Was that enough (do I need to use the jutsu shown in the video) or can we move on?"

i've never played that game, didn't know where they got the idea for the jutsu from lol
If you want to do it like the game shows feel free, after that we will move on, we've got a long way ahead of us still.

- Attack multiple target's simultaneously.
- Low Chakra cost, therefore, quick to execute.
- For all it's diversity, isn't very strong.
- As with most Raiton Jutsu, leaves the user vulnerable to Offensive Suiton Jutsu.
Douse the enemy and the surrounding area and target multiple spots with this jutsu to increase effectiveness and the collective range of the jutsu.
Ways to counter:
Using a Earth Style Defense to block it would most likely be useless, since the bolts can move around objects. The best way to protect from this jutsu is to use a Wind Jutsu to either, defend from all angles or use it to attack the enemy by cutting through the lightning bolts.

I clear my mind and gather my chakra in my right hand, increasing the vibrations of the chakra as I do. The chakra starts to build up as Raiton Style Chakra and I begin to picture how this Jutsu would look like...
The Best I can Imagine is when Hiruko use Raikiri to create controlled streams of lightning chakra. So from that I picture myself creating long and powerful streams of lightning that are controlled by the concentration of my chakra. After a few seconds of visualizing the end result of the jutsu I let the chakra I have been gathering in one flashy show of power and technique. I do my best to keep my attacks from going anywhere near you... Don't want to risk you killing me and ending the training (LOL). The attack hits the Rock (Poor Dwayne Johnson) and a few trees in the background. These weren't completely deliberate, as I was focusing mainly on hitting the rock and not hitting you...
"Phew... That one needed more control that I anticipated. Was that enough?"
