I wanted to ask a question to some non believers, or atheist, on the site. What are your views on religion.

I was raised in the church from young. God is all I know or w/e. I'm still young and I do not know what path I will take. I just wanted to ask 5 questions.

1. Why do you believe God isn't real
2. What are some pros of being atheistic
3. What are some cons of being an atheist
4. When is religion ok, (ex. When it is not being stuffed down your throat/forced on you)
5. Why did you choose to be an atheist


Ps. I'm not a ****ing Christian. I just believe there is a god, somewhere.

1. Because there is no need for god to be real, what purpose is there for us to go to heaven and live happily ever after? wishful thinking by the human race.
2.there isn't really any pro's for being athiest/agnostic.. maybe not buying into the religion means you're more aware/smarter..?
3. and no real cons for it either, maybe being stuckup and thinking you're above religious people, but that's personal problems.
4.Religion is ok in the sense it promotes peace but gives false encouragement that you go somewhere after you die.
5. I'm more agnostic but I do think that Science is more logical than "God", if I had to choose between athiest and religion i'd choose athiest every time.

My stance...Screw it. Who cares. I'll live my life how I wanna live it. If Gods real hell see that I never screwed over anyone and helped people when I could. If he won't let me into heaven then he isn't a God I would worship anyway. If hes not real then I haven't wasted a hefty chunk of my life in church. I honestly just don't care enough to decide if I believe it not.
I do believe that things are predetermined. Right now I'm writing this from my phone. Think about all the raw materials that went into making this phone. All the metal that was buried in the ground for millions of years then was dug up and turned into this phone. All the trees cut down to help make its plastic parts and the people that did that work. All the animals that lost their homes because of it. All the people that will ever read this from random parts of the world because out of billions they just happened to be online on the same website at the same general time viewing the same thread as me. Those odds are insane to think about.

It's everybody's own free will whether you believe in god or not. But for some of those that just totally ignore the idea of a possible god this is what I have to say. Do you think that humanity was just created on a whim. That you think of yourself as a mistake. Personally I have no problem with anyone not believing in god. But it's hard to argue. The object that exploded causing the big bang where did it come from?

I too was raised going to church but not once did i like going to it. at age of 13 i completely stop going and have no desire what so ever in goin i believe in god but i also don't consider myself Christian
