Is Obito really evil?

I think we will get a flashback explaining that Obito did all of this for Rin, and mostly for revenge on Madara. I think Obito figured it out after Madara died, that Madara was using him and planned to sacrifice him... that Madara was responsible for Rin's death and the problems with Uchiha.

A lot of the way Obito has interacted with Madara, suggests he holds Madara in very strong contempt... almost seeing Madara as a petty, pathetic egomaniac. He was horrified to see that Kabuto had Madara's corpse, and so he had to change his goal to deal with Madara, rather than cast I.T.

Obito might just be waiting for the right moment to take out Madara. What do you guys think?

Yea, Obito is evil. You wanna know why? Because he's selfish. He will sacrifice everyone because life didn't work out as a happily ever after for him.

However, I do agree that he holds Madara in contempt. But who would want to have a life debt to that guy?

Of course he is evil, he doesn't have any regard for human life and is willing to kill as many people as it takes to get what he wants and even kill people who don't really need to die for his plan to succeed at all (for example he unleashed the 9 tails on the Hidden Leaf Village).

The first thing he and Madara did when the Ten Tails reached its second form was vaporize a far away city to just test out the Ten Tails power.

And he took a baby hostage once and was willing to kill it, he is insane.

Obito is evil. There really is no discussion. It's like claiming Light or Annie killing innocent people is justified; it isn't... not in their case, nor in Obito's.

people become united when they are in dire circumstances and is facing a common foe.
maybe Obito wanted to teach the leaf that.
Besides the leaf is a vital force that will stop akatsukis goal to collect all the tailed beast, hence the military power should have been reduced had the fox attack didn't fail.
All in all for him the end justifies the means. It's that very nature of hate and tyrany that Obito is trying to get rid of, for the sake of everyone not for his own personal gain. This differentiate him from selfish tyrants bent on conquest or oppression just to secure their wealth or political position.
